Nah, he said that first, then goes on to say "I don't wanna score 30".

Simple as this. He used us because he thought he would win a Championship with us. Then he bailed to another team he thinks he can win a Championship with.

If I were at the game I wouldn't be bother cheering of booing. He is just another former-Rockets player.

So he went to the opposition, who cares? The guy only played here one year. If he pulled a Favre and went to LA, or Utah or SA after playing practically his whole career here, then it'd be a different story.

He played tough. Erratic at times, but gave it his all. Also, he led us to the 2nd round in the first time over a decade.

I won't be there, but if I was, I'd applaud this man.

It still kills me that people keep throwing out the 2nd round deal from last year. Everytime I see that arguement it makes me wonder if these people actually watched the damn games.

Entertaining while he was here but most dissapeared during the playoffs, glad he's gone.

He cared last year when he missed a billion shots ignoring Yao half the time.

This is the type of guy he is. He wants to coast to a Championship.

Offensively, he was questionable. You can't deny his emotional leadership out on the court.

On that note, he wouldn't fit well on this team. Glad he's gone, as well.

I'm wondering if Artest ends up in the stands again what people will do. Is someone going to offer him a beer?

For the people that want to boo him, ya'll are jackasses. Ron didn't cause trouble while he was here. He played hard and helped this team take the Lakers to 7. Argue all you want about how he played or didn't play in the playoffs, he had his moments which helped this team and no one can deny that. Ron helped this team do something that T-Mac never has and for that he deserves, at the very least, our respect.

Seriously, most of ya'll act like the bitter exgirlfriend that got dumped.

I kinda agree with Ron here. I didn't think Ariza could score 30 either.

    I don't see this as a shot.

This. I would applaud if I was there.

But on the reals, I beg you guys to boo the hell outta Fisher. You guys are worried about booing RArtest when your energy should be going to Fisher.

You will see the real Artest when Phil Jackson asks him to start on the bench instead of Odom when Gasol returns.

he did not specifically say bury artest specifically, but instead is saying he hates the lakers and hope they, as an organization burns. =)

I agree with him. It is obvious Ron looks uncomfortable. I kind of feel sorry for the guy. He acts tough and fronts, but deep down inside im sure it stings when an organization didn't want him. It's not like he left this team, its more like we didn't want him.

Artest said the Lakers "triple teamed" him in the playoffs last year. Did that really happen?

You could interpret this as Ron missing the Rockets.

Ron is actually thinking "If Ariza could score 30, imagine how much I would score"

It's just a matter of time. He was on his best behavior with us because he needed that new contract. We also have a team of a bunch of good guys so he didn't have anyone to knock heads with. Now he has his long term deal. If he doesn't score the LA media will be all over him so he'll look to do more and start firing up bad shots. This will get Phil and his teammates pissed off and the **** will hit the fan. My guess is about mid way through the season.

Ron is over-rated...but he will fit in. I always thought he's was going to have a big adjustment period in L.A. - but everyone there has an incentive to make it work.

He's not going to be a star though and that's what he is coming to terms with. He's just a role-player now. His stardom has to be on the D end of the court. Phil wants him to be his D-Rod type of player.

We got the better end of this trade - if for anything the youth side of the equation. I always felt that from the day they swapped places. Was so happy to have Ariza for Artest.

    But don't think Artest won't work out in L.A. - I say there's a 85% chance it will.

Of course no matter what happens, if L.A. doesn't win a ring and Ariza makes it to the All-Star team - there will be a lot of second guessing in L.A.
