Hey folks, on behalf of Carmichael Dave and The Carmichael Dave Show, I'd like to thank you for listening to the show and participating. It was a real treat to look at the phone screen and see that callers from Texas had filled up all the lines. We've put the show up on KHTK.com but we've also posted it here for you so that you can listen right here, as well as a link to where you can download it directly. And we took out the commercials because we like you guys so much. 1st Segment: <embed src="http://static.boomp3.com/player.swf?song=bzl0fn30q_k" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="200" height="20" allowScriptAccess="always" align="middle"></embed><a style="font-size: 9px; color: #ccc; letter-spacing: -1px; text-decoration: none" target="_blank" href="http://boomp3.com/listen/bzl0fn30q_k/artest-on-the-carmichael-dave-show-pt-1">boomp3.com</a> http://boomp3.com/listen/bzl0fn30q_k/artest-on-the-carmichael-dave-show-pt-1 2nd Segment <embed src="http://static.boomp3.com/player.swf?song=bzl0ylchp_9" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="200" height="20" allowScriptAccess="always" align="middle"></embed><a style="font-size: 9px; color: #ccc; letter-spacing: -1px; text-decoration: none" target="_blank" href="http://boomp3.com/listen/bzl0ylchp_9/artest-complete-segment-2">boomp3.com</a> http://boomp3.com/listen/bzl0ylchp_9/artest-complete-segment-2 thanks for listening! Very nice. Welcome to the board. Are you upset that Artest is leaving the Kings? In your honest opinion, how good do you think the Rockets can be with Artest? Also, feel free to drop any insider info you may have in the future. We don't tell.
No problemo, just carrying out orders from Dave. There may be some back story to a lot of the jokes from the show with RonRon, and you can hear the backstory by listening to the clips here: http://www.sports1140.com/pages/1939975.php. Those are from Ron's first few appearances on the show a few months ago. Stories explained include Ron's fear of water, his love of Celine Dion, Snake Eggs, and more. It also includes pictures of Ron with Dave, Dave's baby, Dave's lady and the baby, Deuce (the board op at the station) and Chris the intern and me. (I'm the fat slob.) -Noodles
Noodles, your show is FANTASTIC !!! Very entertaining. Ron is also a wonderful Interview......hilarious stuff. Also, don't know if you realize it, but this is the best fan site on the web...around 40k members..... Welcome aboard ! DD
One of the funniest things I've heard in a long time. Instead of the usual what about the brawl, contract extension, bi-polar garbage we have to hear about Artest, we get Pizza and the Toilet, Celine Dion, Aquaphobia, calls from Washington D.C., an Asian sandwich, Smurfs, Ron the Yao Soldier, roller-skating down 42nd street naked, and a true classic radio name in Carmichael Dave- a virtual cornucopia of pop culture and the deep recesses of the man that is Artest. Award-winning stuff, Noodles.
Noodles, I just ran across this audio clip of Ron interviewing Spencer Hawes (which is pretty damn funny). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRI6bhPR_s0&feature=related At the end, they mention something about trying to set it up so that Ron actually does a radio interview of the guy who threw the beer at him in the Detroit brawl!!! Did that interview ever happen? I'm sure lots of us would loooovve to hear that interview. Did it ever come to fruition? Is it archived somewhere on here (http://www.sports1140.com/pages/2222335.php) ?
Seriously, after hearing Ron's interviews lately and hearing some of his old interviews from Carmichael Dave's archive, he seems like a regular, fun loving, well adjusted dude, a genuine nice guy. That night at the Palace, he must've just snapped. I guess he was already in a heated situation, #1 being in an NBA game competing in a hostile environment, and on top of that #2 getting into a high voltage squab with Big Ben. I guess the beer flying in from the stands just took it over the top to a whole other level, and he snapped. Either that, or maybe he just has a really short fuse, like a jeckyl-and-hyde type thing? Because listening to him, if you didn't know any better, you would never think this guy you're hearing joke around, making self-deprecating light hearted quips, bantering back and forth, you would never think he would be the type to do something like incite a small riot. It's pretty amazing.
I lost it when he said alphabets instead of letters. Whether it was an intended clever joke or just a slip caused by general ignorance doesn't matter. It was funny as hell.
