That's a good point. I have been pushing for Artest given his talent, but man...he's got issues that just aren't worth it.
I really wonder what his trade value is. I know we can't do it, but some crazy team out there has got to be thinking of throwing something at the Pacers. Artest is such a good story. The league needs to keep him around. Wrestling needs villans. The squeaky-clean Spurs need a real bad boy to go against. Indiana has to be thinking how do we get a player at point, sf, or center. Chicago comes to mind. What if they roll the dice and move Chandler or Gordon for Artest ? Boom Goes the Dynamite. I guess Skiles isn't really a Ron Ron match, though. Maybe George Karl - he seemed to get on with GP - not a real easy person. Drop Carmelo down to SG. Move Nene and spare parts for Ron Ron. Not bad. Then you'd have a real thug squad in Denver. There's always the ulitmate villan - Kobe, and Phil jax, well, what do you know - there's a story. There's a match in Hollywood. If they dump Caron Butler for Ron, that works for both teams. Maybe Odom could help Ron relax. I would love to see that guy on the Rox. It would entertain me so. I don't know if it would all blow up by mid season, but something interesting would happen to Tmac and Yao.
But how many guys nearly run someone down, jump out of their car barefooted, rips off their shirt and head off into an empty arena in the middle of the night? Think about it.
there is a psychological condition called intermittent explosive disorder which Artest might have. People with this condition over-react and get violent over stuff that normal people would find trivial... like "hey good seein ya" "good seeing ya?! thats my girl, *****! I keep it real!"
I think Tigermission and rm365 are on to something... Hey, '365, you get that diagnosis right out of the DSM-5?? Tigermission's assertion that he's got a personality disorder is not off-base, but reality is that most people can be diagnosed with a personality disorder (ie, Narcissistic, Dependent, Passive-Aggressive, Borderline, etc.). In Artest' case, it seems like a form of "Social Anxiety" disorder which for most people might wind up in Anxiety attacks, but with Artest may manifest itself in uncontrollable rage. Some Ph.D friends of mine coined the term "rage-aholic" about 20 years ago and now travel the country on the speaker circuit talking about how people (mostly men) can be addicted to their rage. It's a mood altering event for them and they feel powerful and in control when their raging... This is usually followed by intense shame and depression... I hope Artest does get it togther and if a fan or anyone is stupid enough to try and push this guy's buttons after what happend this year, then they're virtually asking for something "crazy" to happen and I for one think that kind of pre-meditation is criminal!! Kind of like "Depraved indifference to Human Suffering", (a Class 2 felony I think...). I agree however with Ben Wallace... "there's something going on there..." - I say we bring Ron-Ron and his meds to the Harris County Psychiatric Center for some off-season workouts...
He certainly has the right. Stern didn't fine or suspend him and the Detroit police didn't bust him. Seems like a setup though, he conveniently did this in front of some Detroit players in the middle of the night. I think Artest is crazy all right, crazy like a fox.
I have an ex gf who was obsessed with skit, prone to yelling out "I'M BRIAN FELLOWS!" at completely inappropriate times. I know how to pick 'em!
