Rockets definitely made the right call on this one... Artest would have been terrible on this years team

So clutchfans hate both tmac AND Artest now? Was Artest a cancer in game six against portland, when the fans were mobbing him in the stands? Seriously, why bash him now?

The Lakers wanted Artest back when Artest was better. Well, they finally got him and now Artest is starting to fall off. I mostly loved Artest on the Rockets for his attitude he brought and the funnies. I do miss the funnies, but am happy to have Ariza.

Lakers fans think they've seen the worst of Artest. Wait until he starts to dribble the ball until the shot clock runs out.

And here is why we do not have avatars on our bbs. This is just wrong...

Well I thought it would be natural that the numbers of Ariza would improve and the numbers for Artest would decline in their new teams.

Also it is 3 games into the season. Let's wait and see what happens from here.

not easy playing with kobe. shaq left, and who wouldn't want him in his prime...? -> kobe. artest is nowhere the player he was in indiana, he's lost a step or 2, and we all saw it last year. although he still has the size to dominate some smaller 2's and 3's, he's not what he was.

ariza on the other hand is the complete opposite, he's been a "role player" his whole career, and done well, especially last year when given PT by Phil. a smart coach. he knows what he's doing. morey signed him. morey's a genius. i trust their opinions over anyone on this board, except maybe DD.

So, do you have other notes you can play? Captain Ahab wasn't this obsessed about Moby Dick!

It seems Laker fans think Ron is a lock down defender which he is not and they are really banking on that. I knew Artest will struggle in the tri but it's only a couple of games into the season. He will start making those open shots as the season moves on but he will break the offense for his own shot and make his share of head scratching plays. Thats the ups and downs of having Ron on your team.

Lets not be like Laker fans, hating on Ariza every chance they get.

Lets just be happy we got ARiza and let them deal with Ron Ron.

New update on this current issue:

Ariza scores 33 points on 11-17 shooting, hitting 5-8 on three pointers.

In other words, game 3 as a Rocket for him and he posts something better than Artest did in his entire season here.

Says a lot. I made a post after game one how he would be a better fit for this team than Ron Artest.

Artest sucks. It's amazing he still has fans here considering what a cancer he was to this team.

Well, he doesn't suck and he was far from a cancer on this team -- he's a major reason we made it out of the 1st round and he always played hard for the Rockets, but this year in particular his skill set seems to be declining. It may be that he is having difficulty with the Lakers' system, but watching him move with and without the ball this he looks to have lost a step (or two). As I posted before he looks too bulky out there IMO. At any rate he's far removed from the elite player he was on the Pacers that is certain.
