Patience my young grasshopper when it comes to Artest and the Lakers. And your delusional if you think Ariza is better than Artest right now.

This doesn't even take into account how big of a cancer he was. He is going to destroy that team. Kobe will kill him

Houston rockets fans are the biggest haters ever. He helped us into the second round and in return all we do is say how we are glad he is gone. You could just be happy for what he did and wish him good luck.

If ron sucked so much morey must be an idiot for getting him, but morey is not an idiot therefore ron did not suck as much.

Ron is starting to look old and plodding out there -- he needs to lose some bulk.

i feel bad for the guy. let's not forget that houston was his first choice. he loved the city and the team. unless we are playing against the lakers, i hope he does well. and ariza is not better than ron atm. hopefully ariza will turn into a more refined player in the next few years but right now.. better than artest? yeah, i think not.

Ron Artest is not half as good as Ron thinks he is....and THAT is his problem.

    He will wreck LA......

Considering this is just the second game of the season, shouldn't you reserve this "Told ya so!!!" bs for later in the season?

What about Wafer, I don't see you making any threads about him. He has sucked it up 2 out of the 3 games he's played last time I checked.

Come on guys, Ron played hard for us, and helped us win games...

He is still learning his spots in the triangle, Don't be like that.

I never said Wafer would blow up overseas, I think he will struggle, he would have fit in here though.

And yes...the "told ya so" was way early and meant somewhat as a joke.

I thought Ron was overrated when he was still here. Unfortunately, we needed him because he was the only one aggressive enough to look for his own shot. I don't he'll do all that well with the Lakers even with a reduced role. His defense ain't what it used to be and that was somewhat covered up last season because Battier always drew the toughest matchup. Being asked to be LA's primary wing defender is going to expose how much he's lost on D.

That said, I agree with others that we're only 2 games into the season and while we can express opinions, the sample size isn't large enough to make judgments about whether Ron Ron will be successful in LA or not.

    2009-2010 Season: Ariza vs. Artest

I think this will be an interesting comparison to watch. Granted, the players are in totally different situations than they were last year and have ever been in their careers but after the first two games I looked to see how they matched up statistically and the scoring and fg% numbers were way in Ariza's favor. I know it is only 2 games but I think ultimately we will see a better player come out of Ariza than Artest. Take a look at the numbers:

    NAME:______ARTEST________ARIZA_______ADVANTAGE
    MPG:________32.0__________ 36.5__________ NEUTRAL (Comparable)
    PPG:_________6.5__________ 18.5__________ ARIZA
    FG%:________.250__________.414__________ ARIZA
TOTAL SHOTS:_16___________ 29___________ NEUTRAL (Ariza took 13 more attempts could make a difference)
    3P%:________.222__________.462__________ ARIZA
    TOTAL SHOTS:_9____________ 13___________ ARIZA
    RPG:_________4____________ 4____________ TIED
    APG:_________3.5__________ 3.5___________ TIED
    TOPG:________4____________ 5____________ ARTEST
    SPG:_________1.5___________1.5___________ TIED
    BPG:_________0.0___________0.5___________ ARIZA
    EFF:_________ 2.5__________ 13.0__________ ARIZA
    RECORD:_____1-1___________1-1___________ TIED

Once again, it is only 2 games and their expected role on their team as well as team depth is completely different but this should be a very fun comparison to watch and see who really shakes out to be the better player especially since Artest is in Ariza's role from last year and Ariza is in Artest's role from last year (with less help.) Maybe the more accurate thing to do would be to compare Artest's numbers this year to Ariza's numbers last year and vice versa.
