He didn't. I wrote that as possible options Ron will have.

Maybe Ron will take this as a challenge and try to prove that he can still win with this team.

it will be his first opportunity to play lead on a very good team and for a top 4 market, without the headaches of big city media and no state income tax.

I don't know that you want him if you are going to have to try and rebuild, assuming that's the case. I don't think I'd want to commit the kind of money he's gonna want, and still try to find a center.

I give Ron 50/50 chance he resigns. He may want to sign with the Cavs, who knows now but I am hoping he stays because of his fondness for RA.

He stays. He'll see it as a rescue mission and a chance to end his career here.

    I still believe.

We can still be a contender as long as we got Scola and Battier.

    and with Ron of course.

So if we can trade Yao and Tmac, we're golden.

If you can get some value why not but that horse has left the barn a long time ago. Get what you can but Yao still has some tests to get done before the doom and gloom can set in. Rockets will be back!

I like Ron and his game, but I would rather just play Jermaine Taylor and Von Wafer at this point. We are OUT of "win now" mode...

That's true. If Yao is out we really have no chance next season and Artest is becoming useless. Gotta let him walk.

The rumor mills is buzzing about Artest to Cleveland as his most likely destination if he doesn't stay in Houston. Broussard and Ford both mentioned this today.

Also, If we let Ron go... what about Marvin Williams...hes young (24) , but a restricted free agent... very good 3 point shooter and he is the same size as Ron....

    10. Marvin Williams, SF, Atlanta (Restricted)

    Age: 23
Key stats: 13.9 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.3 apg

Williams has never justified his status as the No. 2 pick in the 2005 Draft. But he has improved steadily over his four seasons and became a solid shooter last season before back problems sidelined him down the stretch. He's the youngest player in the top 10 and can fill holes on both ends of the floor.

Hmmm, this should be a very interesting situation. But I dont think the Rockets will offer anything more than 8 million, which he made this season. They dont want it to cut into the salary cap figure for 2010 free agents. Unfortunately, they will let him walk

This whole situation bums me out. How can our perception of the Rockets future go from one extreme to the other in such a small period of time? Unbelievable.
