I wonder if kobe has ever had a teamate that was for real "hood" like dat boi ron

Lakers better find a way to keep odom, or the "hood" in ron will begin to stink up that locker room at staples.

    Wish him luck in LA.

I love his physical plays when he was in red.
I wish he was more consistent.

Now that he's with Kobe, I hope he doesn't do the same dribbling for 16secs and jack up a fade away 3.

I believe there are reasons that we don't know why Morey would let him go.

Lastly, I strongly dislike his reaction toward T-mac's failed dunk, as a teammate.
    That was sad of him.

Couldn't agree more. Ron was in his prime in Indiana. That team could have really made some noise, they could have even stolen a ring. If he didn't get in that fight, Ron would have a ring. I really really believe that.

now that he's with Kobe, I hope all he does is dribble for 16 seconds and then jack up fadeaway 3s at the last second. Wish the Lakers the worst.

you ungrateful homers have to get your sh** together, Artest willed his way to help the Rox advance past the first round of the playoff.

Artest will improve Lakers performance in the playoff, just like he did for the Rox.

Artest wasn't the only reason. If you think that, rewatch the series. The team did a great job, and the TEAM willed it so.

As for Artest improving the lakers, the jury is still out. A lot of critics say this "trade" does not help either team. Ron is not good off the bench, and I wonder what Ron's attitude will be when he's no longer the top dog. If you mix that with fact he won't get all those shots he got here, it's hard to say he's an upgrade from Ariza. LA doesn't need the defense, they need the role players. Can Ron be a role player?

I know i'll get flamed for this but I believe that if we had the Tmac of the 2008 playoffs we still would have beaten portland. The entire team stepped up in the portland series and still would have lost to the lakers though. that first round had little to do with ron artest's individual performances he had some good games yes but he had more than his share of horrible games which hurt

it was more about facing portland than anything else they were a good matchup for the rockets unlike the jazz the two years prior

I'm glad he's gone. The team as constructed now does not need a Ron Artest to eek out 5-10 more victories. Our young guys will continue to develop while getting more minutes. They'll have more shot attempts and more freedom to grow as players. We can't realistically challenge for the championship, so there's no point in having a rental like Ron Artest.

We need development. We need change. We don't need the Tru Warier.

PS This post will only make sense if Morey doesn't pull Amare out of his badass hat.

perfect eg of a homer's selected memory. as soon as Artest join the team, the rox did a great job together, willed together. go figure.
Artest was never the top dog w the Rox. what happend ? as your have stated, the team willed to advanced past the first round of playoff.
the dizzying height of homerism. Artest, never the top dog, was a role player w the Rox, how did he do?

THANK YOU! I think the thing of it is, as Rockets fans, we overlook that Utah team every time. We never matched up well against them. They cause issues for us. I don't think if we matched up against Utah last year we would have gotten out of the first round. Boozer, Williams, even Cryalinko causes problems for us. Tmac is a quiter, but he does show up in the playoffs.

Exactly. He was a rental player for a year. The 2nd best defensive small forward on our team. Not exactly a Rocket legend.

    What's the big deal?

You are totally right, I forgot, Ron willed us to win 22 games in a row. Thanks Ron.

Oh! And remember when Yao went down and Ron dropped 40 on Kobe every game, and then lead the team in assists and boards. Remember how AB basically took a bunch of bad shots? Chuck Hayes bent over for Gasol? And Shane turned the ball over like crazy?

None of that actually happened. The team won in spite of Ron when Yao went out, not because of him. Comparing Utah to Portland is a joke. That Utah team that we went against was always considered a darkhorse winner. Portland was never seen in that light. Yet, you want to equivicate the two and somehow show off Tracy McGrady's inability to win. Fine, whatever. Homerism, maybe.

eg of homerism, of a team mired in permanent mediocrity, at its best.

Wait one minute, are you saying we didn't win 22 games in a row and I selevtively remember only the wins, that somehow there were losses in between I forgot?

One thing all the Ron Artest fans of the world forget, last season Yao played 77 games. 77! The year we took Utah to 7 Yao played only 48 games. Yes, he was there for the 7 against Utah, but he was just coming off injury. But please, let's discount the impact of more play by Yao, let's dimish the contributions by AB0, and the heart of Shane. It was Ron, he was the difference maker. So you're telling me, Ron won one more game for us, because the difference between 2007 and 2009 was ONE GAME. ONE GAME.

But my homerism infects me, realistically, Utah actually swept us in 2007, I've made up the other three games we won. I've made up the 22 game win streak, because my Rocket's fandom makes me dillusional. Please, someone, get me some meds, I'm crazy!!! I'm crazy!!!

You're telling me a 29 year old Artest vs a Karl Malone at the end of his career is similar situation?

    WTF!
