Ron Artest has decided to wear No. 37 with the Lakers in honor of Michael Jackson.

Artest, who has already worn five different numbers in his NBA career, wore No. 96 with the Rockets last season.

The forward chose No. 37 to honor Jackson's "Thriller" album, which topped the national sales chart for 37 weeks after its release in 1982.

He looks a little chunkier in those pics. Maybe he slowed down even more... haha that would suck considering how slow he already is...

Other than fat players, and in proportion to his height, Ron has got to be one of the widest NBA players.

It'd be hilarious if he still had signs of that playoff haircut. I doubt it though.

from reading the comments...it looks like LA fans have mixed emotions about RA...we sure didn't when he came here...

well we also didn't give up an 'ariza' type player...so I guess I understand their pain..

5 year deal seems excessive; the only thing worse than overpaying a player is signing them to a long term contract beyond their prime.

That last pic from the neck down he looks like Shaq.

And I've enjoyed his previous jersey numbers and reasoning, but to go from repping QB to a pop album? Its like LA's faking him up real quick.

Rep added for the edit comment, as well as posting what I wanted to post, but was too slow to do so.

Truthfully he looks thinner in his new uniform.

But I have said it before, while I will still respect his talents, I can't say I am a fan of Mr. Artest's latest home. Good luck to him but I'm still waiting for Kobe's finger to fall off.

Ronnie Ronnie Ronnie you my nigg*
homie don't tell a lie you know that you miss him
    I cry for Ron

Ron wasn't right for this team but I wish he would have signed in Cleveland so I wouldn't have to root against him. Just looks wrong in that uni.
