the nba could have and should have suspended him for 15 games, but they knew that if LA got out of the playoffs early, that would lower the ratings.

and with MWP coming back in the 2nd round to likely play OKC, i can guarantee you that will have alot of high ratings because of this incident.

 

I think 7 games is fair punishment.

 

In basketball? No.

It might be interesting to see if certain types of teams with reputations for being "soft" attract more flagrant fouls than others, though. I suspect there is no such pattern.
