lol @ people now acting like Ron Artest has done nothing for us all year.

I doubt we would be as good as we were if Ron Artest wasn't on this team and we had Donte Green instead.

    But for your question.

He saves us the Dallas game

    Indiana game

Plenty of games with his Defense.

But how quickly do people forget.

How many wasted possessions do we have to burn before we realize giving the ball to Artest with time running out ain't going to work anymore!!! Seriously, i rather let Aaron Brooks chuck up a 3 than letting this baffon do one on one like he's Kobe-wannabe.

Seriously, i like his defense but his offense has been awful lately. He takes too many contested jump shots and on top of that he turnover the ball. He and dumb ass Aaron Brooks just kill the team efficiency rating right there!

I think Artest should not be getting any sort of isolation 1-on-1s/creating a shot for his teammate kind of role in the offense. He needs to play like Battier and be disciplined with his shot selection, but obviously due to his monstrous physique, he needs to post up periodically. He can bulldoze most people covering him and in the low block he can pick up a ton of fouls and still get a shot up. If he's open for a three, he should take it because he IS a decent shooter with his feet set. It's when he's taking those weird leaners and fadeaways that we get into trouble.

I don't like seeing him at the top of the key doing all that funky dribbling then taking an off-balance shot. It's not his strength. Artest DOES do good things for the team and he's a hard worker and competitor, but it's really his lack of awareness on what his strengths are and him trying to assume roles that don't suit him that really hurt us. He should never be a volume shooter and should be an opportunistic distributor at best, pick good spots to take his shots (preferably with feet set and not under a lot of defensive pressure) and work his butt off on the defensive end. That's all we ask for and when he does those things he helps the team a ton.

Ron Artest and Aaron Brooks are just filling in Rafer Alston's old role. We need somebody wasting our possessions. Who else better than Chris Rock and Tru Warrior?

Every ****ing when they can't go to Yao, then they hand the ball to Artest and going to do his stupid one on one dribble and his usual missed shots. That is why i believe Adelman put Wafer in longer sometimes because he doesn't want to talk to Artest about this.

Wafer is not the answer, he'll be a good role player nothing more. Wish we could sign Ben Gordon he's been money in the playoffs but he wants more than the 5yr/50M deal the Bulls offered him, can't afford him.

Did you read the article by Justice that the Rox are having second thoughts about signing Artest, if he keeps playing like this there will be no thought of bringing him back.

**** Ron Artest, if we lost this series I don't want him to be on the team anymore. He doesn't see himself as a better post up player and not great at dribbling one on one. I said it before and i'll say it again even during the regular season...that his strength is posting up at the low post and just bulldozer his way to the basket. Do you ever EVER see him doing that??NO!! Does he has a chance to do that?? Absolutely, well if the coach wake the **** up and run some play for him down low like they did with Scola, Ron would have low post and would be able to play to his strength rather than doing that stupid dribbling shyt outside the line where he always keep missing.

Your post is almost impossible to read. It just looks like a bunch of incomplete thoughts thrown into incomplete sentences. I don't really care if people misspell or punctuate incorrectly but if you can't even get your point across you shouldn't start a thread much less complain when people can't understand what you are trying to say.

What do you think about this??

I think that´s what he is, he can either have a great game on both sides or a game like the one he had today, great at defense but killing any hope of montion offense.

To say the truth, he has been great for me, evendoe i don´t like his kinda-wantto take overs, you have to live with them because ocansionally he WILL take over for good, most likely, not.

He has played good when we had good leads, not having to take anything over, he has not been a headcase here, he has provided leadership and he has come at a great price.

So far, i think i need all but thank this guy for what he has brought to the rockets, without him, we would have been doomed this season, and he has been the oposite of our anti-hero T-Mac.

But, how can i tell you, i think, after this season, no matter how far we go (okay, we will rethink this if we sweep the lakers) he will have to go for good.

In few words, he doesn´t really fit, he is not playing at his level, he is not in rythm with the team neither.

If i were the Rox GM i would call San Antonio, arrange a sign and trade for Ginobili, and ship him here, that would be my thanks to him, sending him to a good team, and not a garbage one, and in return get a player like ginobili healthy (he had the same that Yao had the last season and we could see that is not a career ending injury).

i think he fits adelman offense beautifully, is a good defender (battier returns to be our primarily defender) and we can play him alongside almost any formation, Yao-Scola-Brooks-TMac-Wafer, he is used at playing will ballhogs (Parker) and good team players (rest of the spurs), and he will still have leadership, experience, and the winning mentality Ron installed here with his coming.

His contract also expires the same year as T-Mac´s so that won´t bother us, and we can resign him if we want to. Also gives us the chance to get the most from T-Mac because his spot will be well covered, or from Battier if we can get the formation DoesntCare-Ginobili-McGrady-Scola-Ming to work.

    Thoughts?

How can you say that about Von? He is getting his first chance and has improved IMMENSLEY in just one year....

I think Von has a massive upside...I would sign him and let Artest go...

I think artest has helped this team but doesn´t really fit, would you prefer to let him go after this season or sign and trade him for Ginobili expiring deal?

Easy, i shall practice my english more, i thought the post was quite right.

The current salary the Rockets pay Artest is just right for him which is about $8-9 mil. But he wants a bigger contract, somewhere around $10-12 mil. I can't see any other teams paying that much for a 30-year old player who didn't produce much in the the playoffs.

Funny thing is, if Tracy were healthy all year he would have actually made Artest look better in this series possibly getting him that contract he wanted. Shot creating and play-making responsibility would decrease for Ron. All he would have to do is stand there and wait for Tracy to create an open shot for him.

If I know that Tracy is going to be healthy next year, then I would re-sign Artest to a 2 year deal (unlikely he would agree to it). Make a run at the title for one more year. With that said, I think the Rockets are going to go in another direction (move Tracy, let Artest walk), especially if we don't make it out of the first round or get beaten badly in the second.
