People get jacked ANYWHERE. Put it this way, other than war torn regions, Washington DC, Baltimore, NYC, and New Orleans are considered the murder capitols of the WORLD. 3rd Ward = drunk College kids walking around at midnight 'Nolia projects = people getting merced over J's in broad day light Houston's in the minority of big cities that considers thugs people who smoke weed and wear their pants below their waists. If you go to QB, Artest is considered a NICE guy.

Artest first comments about him being probably a different black player than Yao every played with and that he is ghetto I was like owe that is really ignorant. Then I heard him explain about that brawl he said that if somebody throws something on him like that beer for instance some people are scared so they don't react. In other words where he is from you can't be a coward only the strong survive. In the words of Tupac I ain't killer but don't push me. Where the players that we have on our team will get pushed around and not to nothing which is true other than Rafer. Thats why we added a Dorsey and a Artest. Van Gundy even said the Rockets need to add some pit bulls around T-Mac and Yao great players, but not tough guys. So he is exactly what we need and so is Dorsey.
that's cause back in the day, things were real. not like today's rappers (the game) who was manufactured.
Don't forget about Scola. Scola and Landry are tough, too. They're willing to hustle and get physical. Hayes, Battier, and Head should also be recognized for their energy and hustle plays...but obviously not enforcers, like I imagine Dorsey and Artest to be.
I live in Chicago, and most of the notorious projects on the south side (i.e. Robert Taylor homes) have been torn down by the city, forcing their former residents to move to the suburbs. Cabrini Green on Division Street & Larabee still has a few buildings standing, and the weird thing about this project is that it's literally blocks from some of the most prestigious addresses in Chicago. If anyone is interested, I really recommend the book, Gang Leader For A Day. It was written by a University of Chicago graduate student who wrote his dissertation on urban poverty. To do this, he lived in and visited people in the projects for nearly ten years..really interesting book.
