No you're right on that. Got a PT client who is a wealthy mormon. I asked her about this. It is def the status quo. I respect the conviction to the cause though.
Man, always so harsh. Will check it out. Doesn't change the stated fact of the first three sentences.
You're also pissed that the 2010 and 2011 tax bill enabled Mitt Romney to exploit the carried interest exception which dates back to edit: 1921?
It's not like he broke the law or anything. Granted, he had deductions but I'm sure anyone else on this board would've done the same in that position. If he is in the top 1% in income and paid top 1% in taxes, then I think it was fair.

Sure, also I'm saying that Obama tried to eliminate it in 2009, 2010, and 2011, and proposes to do it now. Guess who blocked it?
Tool bags (R). With lobbyists hiding behind them. Was it filibustered in 2009 & 2010? Didn't recall hearing about it.
examples of the LDS's Charitable donations are not cherry picking since on this point we were talking specifically about whether the LDS was charitable. To the people that receive this message, it IS a tangible benefit. It may not be a tangible benefit to you, but to them it is. Thats like saying a non-profit drug counseling center has no tangible benefits. To you..no they have no benefit (at least not directly)..but to many others the benefits are enormous. If you are extremely devout Mormon then I could see how you might consider it expected - But even still, expected and Required are 2 different things. Most Evangelical churches Expect you to tithe and they teach on it. However, only 8% of Evangelicals actually tithe.
If this is all there is, then why doesn't he just release all of his tax returns? If there's nothing to hide, no reason not to...
No, I was pissed that Obama extended the Bush tax cuts. The favorable tax rates that investment incomes enjoy is more complicated. I would say my feelings on that are that they are sub-optimal. I reserve feelings of being pissed off for guys who say they'll do one thing and then do the opposite.
So he overpays his taxes and that's a bad thing...? How does it affect you? It's his own money... I prefer "all natural" but that's me... He "probably" also paid more than anyone else on this board probably maybe coulda...
Mitt Romney- "Frankly, if I had paid more than are legally due, I don't think I'd be qualified to become president," he said.
Because most of his income came from investments, not salary. Investments are taxed much lower. Not to mention after state taxes he paid over 38%.
So what? He could have LEGALLY paid less, but because he had stated that he paid no less than 13 percent, he chose to claim less so that he wouldn't be accused of lying later. Not his fault he gives SO MUCH MONEY to charity that he pays less in taxes.
