Can you imagine the teeth gnashing and vitriol from the right if Mr. Obama want to Africa to raise money for his campaign? Hightop would lose his mind.

Romney To Raise Money From Bankers During London Trip

Traveling to London for the Olympics, Mitt Romney will hold two separate fundraising events hosted by a number of banking industry officials, reports the Boston Globe.

    From the Globe:

The events involve a reception – at a cost of $2,500 per person – and a high-dollar “private dinner with Governor Mitt Romney” that will cost from $25,000 to $75,000 per person. Both events will be held at a location in “central London” that has not yet been named.

Though former Barclays CEO Bob Diamond, who recently resigned over the rate-fixing scandal, is no longer among the hosts, a registered lobbyist from Barclays, Patrick Durkin, is still one of the hosts.

Others involved in hosting the events are Dwight Poler, managing director at the European branch of Bain Capital, the firm Romney founded; Raj Bhattacharyya, managing director at Deutsche Bank; and Dan Bricken, a managing director at Wells Fargo Securities.

And didn’t the president, at the state of the union, warn the Supreme Court and the country about the possibility of foreign money influencing our elections after the citizens united ruling?

Seems Mr. Obama was correct in his assessment despite Mr. Alito’s childish fit.

    LOL

    LIBOR scandal.

Hold fundraising dinner in London with Barclays represented.

If I'm the Obama campaign, I make political hay with this. I thought Romney was weak on financial reform. I never imagined he would do something so stupid to demonstrate it.

Well, to be fair, Romney did create a lot of jobs overseas with all the outsourcing.

...and they have no national loyalty either.

They just don't give a **** what happens to this country, and they REALLY don't give a **** what happens to its workforce.

Actually once the middle class is destroyed, they can assume 'droit du seigneur' for all their new white yardmen so they are sorta pulling for it.

I was thinking the same thing. It's awfully politically stupid of Romney to do this now, in the midst of the LIBOR scandal. Unfortunately, I think most people don't understand LIBOR or how it affects them, and the media here in the states doesn't seem to cover it much, so maybe no one will care.
