Yeah, Octavia and Pompey... not sure if it was supposed to have been consumated but since it was a full frontal I assumed that you would have recalled.
Great show Sunday...I really love this show...Pretty solid and just a lot of great lines...Sevilia was one crazy b*tch..."Atia of the Julii, i call for justice"...Man, crazy...Marc Antony and Octavia, pretty cool...Pullo "beating" Gaia, nice...very nice...I didn't know they herbs to abort babies... Sad that there are only a few remaining episodes...I can't wait for Sopranos...
I heard this show only has two seasons, shame. Shame on your Americans don't like watching history show anymore, so I and my beloved Chinese fellow cannot have it enough via pirate download. Can anyone tell me is there any other good history TV show exists? I like watching our ancester fighting each other, very much!
If it is hot like "american idol", it will not be too expensive. It is absoultly normal that a serious history show will not likely attract a lot of audiences. HBO is making pacific war, i am very exciting about it!
rome wouldn't survive on a major network. there would be too much editing of the sex and especially the violence. i haven't seen the sopranos on fx or whichever station picked it up, but i'm sure it's lost some of its edge because of it.
Octavia was such a w****..... The roster: -Whoever her first husband or boyfriend was that Atia had killed in season one -Octavian (her brother) -Servillia (a woman and her mother's nemesis) -Whoever she was doing at those drugged up orgies -Agrippa (her brother's first in command) -Antony (her mother's lover) HOMEWRECKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Since it is on HBO, there is no advertising revenue, and the viewership is limited to HBO subscribers. There is no way to compare a very expensive drama on a subscription service to a star search ripoff on a broadcast network.
Do you know who owns the DVD and syndication rights for it? I don't. I really wish they would keep making the show, because it is awesome, but I have to figure they have a reason not to continue making it, and the reason they gave was the cost.
I would imagine the production cost should be dramatically lower in subsequent seasons because most of the sets are already built and the costumes are already prepared. I hope they can find a way to get a third season. I've never seen production value like this EVER on TV.
I agree, but it is still expensive due to filming in Italy and paying all the actors and extras as well as maintaining the sets. Also, BBC and the other company (don't remember the name) are investors and they only agreed to do it for two years. They are not renewing, which means HBO wuold have to shoulder all of the cost, which they are unwilling to do. One of my favorite shows on tv, but I think it's done...which sucks
Yeah, we just got through watching it and wow is right. Best episode of the season! When Octavian was giving a verbal beatdown to everyone, especially Antony, I'm thinking, God, why does this show have to end. Then we had the intensity between Vorenus and his daughter and they throw in a Pullo ass whoopin. What more could you ask for? How about a great ending putting Antony and Cleopatra together? Wow, just wow.
