Now tell me what his OB% would be....

Compare that to the other options.

I agree, minors is best for him. Due to injuries we need bodies and he can do more than the other options we have. What’s best for the team is probably him.

OBP wouldn't be good. He'd never get good pitches to hit. Good pitchers could exploit his weakness and he'd get himself out. He'd be a worse Michael Toglia. I don't think that would be fair to him or to the club.

Remember too, it takes awhile even for the best hitters to adjust. It took Cam time to shine. Look at Caglione, one of the best hitting prospects in the game, who's currently struggling. Look at Tucker's first season in the majors. Matthews isn't going to come right up and dominate in the middle of a pennant race.

So three guys over a span of 10+ years? We have made a lot of trades for high end players and most of the prospects busted out.

Most prospects bust. The conversion rate is low, especially for guys who weren't tops in MLB, can't miss types.

But we've had more than most orgs leave and become stars. And my list was far from all-inclusive. Hader, Musgrove, etc.

I can guarantee we haven’t had more than most orgs who have made as many deals as we have.

So his 400 ob% would drop to what?

I don't know why you think I said he would dominate. I said he would likely be better than the waiver wire guys they have now.

It's a low bar. You think he can't do .205 with a .301 ob% and .574 ops Guillorme did last year???

Disagree. They should have given him 2 weeks before the All Star break to see. I can’t imagine it’s worse than Hummel or Guillerme. I mean/ it might be worse but you are talking about arguing chlamydia v gonorrhea and which is worse. They both suck. But there’s upside to Matthews at least.
