If you want sports-talk more so than entertainment stuff, Dan Patrick Show on 790 is a better deal (more content, less hype). Rome is more of a 'takes' guy who's opinionated and has some entertaining 'smacks' on regular basis. Overall, I don't care much for him but I listen to him once in a while. Besides, I appreciate him more these days with Frank Caliendo around...that stuff is HILARIOUS! EPIC!
Im out on Rome. Back in the late 90's the show was fresh and cool. It had kind of a rebel yell to it. Now as others have posted, his schtick is stale, interviews boring, and for God's sake - TOO MANY COMMERCIAL BREAKS - like every 4 minutes..... Its time for Rome to take a bow...... too old and played out.
I've been there. I loved him forever. Then I got SICK of him for like 3 years. But the last few months I have been listening more and I love the emails. I love the resets of old stuff he used to do. I can take or leave the interviews. I like the national schtick but hate the west coast crap. Overall, I like him. I never liked Patrick. Even when we had him I thought it was as boring as David Carr.
