You are only one section away from us. We will be rather difficult to miss.

If you are above Row 18, be prepared to do a lot of standing. ;) ...cause andymoon, myself and 28 of our closest friends will be standing the whole time.

Is there some sort of club meeting that I need to start going to? I'm in the section, but I'm not getting the memos!

You must not be an 'official' Red Rowdy. I know that is true because you called it the Red Alert section earlier which was one of the names tossed around last season. So I assume you purchased tickets nearby the Red Rowdy section. No problem ...all are welcome.

But the official Rowdies are the group of folks that went through tryouts to get season tickets purchased by JVG. We communicate amoungst ourselves routinely. But feel free to shoot me an email and if we meet for drinks or something before a game, you're welcome to join us.

...and we will post here often.

Send me an email and I will get you set up on our Google Group.

EDIT: If you are not an official "Red Rowdy," I will not add you to the group, but I will keep you updated on some of our discussions through email.

Well, I bought tickets in June, before the JVG bit, specifically requesting to be in the Red Alert/Rowdy section. If it only counts if you were in the tryouts, than I suppose I'm not.

..and while I'm sure you didn't intend to be so, that post came across as rather superior.

Did not intend it at all. I would love for you to feel like you are a part of our group, and I personally don't have a problem with you being on our mailing list, I will just want to check with MY superior before I make that happen.

How could I claim to be better than you when you make enough money to buy season tix while I had to go out and act a fool for mine?

    ;)

EDIT: Oops. I thought you were talking to me. Didn't see that you were talking to krosfyah. He prolly was talking down to you, that elitist pig. :p

tc is too formal, until they prove otherwise, i will watching on my little 32 inch flat panel. and there will be lots of cheering so i feel bad for the neighbors, one day i dream of having season tix.

By the way for those of you going I expect it to be a playoff atmosphere for two reason

    1) its the home opener
    2) its the mavs and o do i hate the mavs.

I'm going to be honest, the whole tone of this is off-putting. When this started last year, you were part of the group by showing up. The goal seemed to be the more the merrier (70+ when we messed with the Warriors heads in a victory) and trying to get everyone in the arena to become a rowdy. That's why I bought into the section (114, row 23, aisle) the moment I had the chance. Now it's sounding like only a select few are allowed, which seems pretty opposite to the spirit to me. Who exactly is your superior?

I was understanding that JVG and TMac contributed tix to help increase the size of the rowdies faithful, not limit it only to those that got the free tickets.

I'm sorry if all this comes across as b****ing. But I was pretty active with this idea all of last spring, excited about it all summer, and to read stuff like you want me "to feel LIKE" I'm part of YOUR group is pretty crappy.

Ya, sorry emjohn. As andymoon mentioned, we don't have direct say in the matter which is why we are sounding exclusionary. The Rowdy section is a 'formalized' group led by the Rockets themselves. I was also at the Golden State Game last year and this group bears little to no reseamblance of what occured last season. Last season it was a group of fans that simply bought tickets in a section. That's not what it is this year.

There is a representative that actually sits with us. He and he has the final say in just about everything we do. If we do something that is deemed inappropriate, our tickets can be revoked. Unless you commit a crime, your tickets will not be revoked. We live by a special set of rules put forth by the Rockets. So it isn't a matter of andymoon and I deciding if you can be on the email list. That would be up to the Rockets.

I gather that you didn't really realize the extent to which the "rowdies" are an organized group so I understand where you are coming from. All that said, you are welcome to hang out and be apart of the rowdies in an informal way. The more the better. Often a few of us hang out at Live Sports Cafe before most of the games. After we enter Toyota center, we do a walk around the concourse. During the game, you'll obviously be nearby and the goal is to get everybody around us as involved as possible.

I'm going. Section 111. I hope to see a very competitive game, and a few clutch shots by T-Mac late in the 4th quarter.
