In the same boat as RMT, no power in the 77055.

Getting tired of hearing all of those who HAVE power, preach to me of how I should be thankful compared to those in Galveston.

With that said, I'm not comparing my situation to those who lost lives or property -- it's not even close.

Got power back last but the damage to our meter and lines is making the lights flicker. The lights dim, the tv turns off and on, the AC won't stay on. Its like spurts of electricity. You better believe I haven't turned on the PCs or PS3s or HDTVs. Hopefully the AC and refrigerator don't fry. Its like god threw me half a bone but not the whole thing. Waiting game is gonna destroy me. I need HD for CFB tomorrow or I will be grumpy.

That sounded whiny. Sorry, I apologize to you guys still without power. Good luck.

Still no power in 77066. Which has given me a good excuse to go to Sam's Boat for 3 consecutive nights

Same here, my house is the start of another grid and almost all of my neighbors have their power back, but I don't, so my neighbor was cool enough to let me borrow his generator he was using. God bless him. :)

But I really get mad whenever people tell me to be thankful for what I have. I'm thinking in my mind, "You wanna trade situations and have no power while I get to chill with my AC on?"

Time to enjoy that cold, cold beer and some football.

I think I may scream out a little girl when I finally get power..

ONLY STREET IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD WITHOUT POWER!!!!

They removed the two trees that were on the lines and all that is needed is for Centerpoint to get over here and put the lines back on the poles.

I had so much hope that it was going to happen today...

    Got power yesterday at 3:30pm..

Cable is still screwed up. Comcast is coming tomorrow to fix it. If not, we are close to switching to Direct TV...

I gotta say I find it amusing that the big knock on satellite is that is goes out during bad weather, yet Comcast is jacked up for so many people while my DirecTV was rocking and rolling as soon as I got power back.

My cable is finally watchable now that the constant freezing and cutting out seems to have stopped, but now my Internet is horribly slow.

Calling Comcast either gets a 'please call back' response or an 'outages/working on the lines' answer.

That U-Verse thread is looking more and more interesting...

And the power goes back out. This really sucks. Centerpoint just seems to going for numbers and not solid work

Yeah, and U-Verse just did an upgrade so now I can watch content from the DVR on any TV. It also appears the HD picture quality got a boost.

Per Chron.com, Centerpoint is done restoring power to everyone except those that need electrician work.

While I was frustrated that it took over 2 weeks to get power, I have to admit CP did an amazing job. Restoring power to over 2,000,000 households in under 3 weeks. WOW!

    Thanks Centerpoint!
