22%-er here too. 386 got alot of power yesterday. Supposedly down to 8% out in the zip code. But no one in my neighborhood got power. My hood is still in the dark.

I swear, the next person (who has power) comes to me at work saying, "Well, atleast you have a house," I will smack in the face.

I feel you, man. Have you checked your meter? Still attached to the house? Apparently, if it's not, you have to have an electrician fix it. CenterPoint won't do it.

Hang in there. As a blues musician, you should have plenty of experience to draw inspiration from....even if it has to be via ACOUSTIC guitar. That's old school blues right there. Sitting on the porch playin' the blues.

Be thankful. At least you have a house.

Everything is in tact including the meter. The lead to my house is draped over a tree and hanging low, but that's Centerpoint's responsibility. I just need the bastards to flip the switch.

Been sitting on the driveway, drinking beer, and playing the blues for nearly 2 weeks.

PS - a friend told me his folks heard a news report yesterday that my neighborhood (Meyerland/Westbury) was hit so hard it might not be back until November.

Got a text that I have power... Every text that comes after it I cringe thinking it may say that the power went away. If its on when I get home I will stab myself in joy.

A few days after the hurricane, maybe the Monday after, there was a rep from Entergy on the phone with Channel 11. They were politely asking him why CenterPoint was already at 40% restored (or something like that) and they were still at 0% restored. This guy literally got in an argument with them and started saying it’s all the media’s fault and making other bizarre accusations. Complete meltdown. He basically got mad and hung up.

We have Entergy and I looked at my wife and said “uh…..that’s not good.” After hearing that exchange, we thought we’d be down for a month or so.

A few days later, they had a different lady representing them and being much more down to earth. I wonder what happened to that original guy.

Anyway, once Entergy completed their initial assessment, they went to work – hard. They literally went from 0% to 100% restored in less than 2 weeks.

yeah but in terms of total customers that have had their power restored, Centerpoint is winning by default.

Not sure you can gauge what Centerpoint is doing against what Entergy is doing since they are not the same.

How lovely. Now those of us without power get to worry about being burglarized all night long.

    Really? Really?

Are you staying at your place? The entire 11 days I was without power, I stayed with other people.

My mom called me at lunch to let me know she finally got power...She was sooo happy, god bless her...

Maybe a start of normalcy, but debris is still up front and a lot of clean-up still is needed... :(

Yes. At night, I want people to know there is somebody home. Daytime doesn't bother me as much. There are lots of retired people on my block who are always out, and while the power has been off, they've been sitting on their front porches and walking the neighborhood.
