I'm wondering the same thing myself. I know AG started on occassions for the Mavs, but I bet he comes off the bench for us. I'm pretty sure Pike will come off the bench also, he'll come in when Boki normally comes in. I'm wondering how much better Pike will be than Boki. Same type of player but Pike has more experience and more court savy. I bet Boki is a better defender and taller for that matter, although it would be hard to shoot better than Boki has from the 3.

    Starters:

    Yao
    Cato
    JJ
    Mobley
    Francis

    2nd shift:

    Cato
    Taylor
    Boki
    Pikowski
    Francis

    3rd shift:

    Yao
    Taylor
    A. Griffin
    Mobley
    Moochie

    Game on the line shift:

    Yao Yao
    Cato Cato
Pikowski OR JJ (if he's hot during the game)
    Mobley Pikowski
    Francis Francis

    Small lineup shift:

    Yao
    JJ
    Pikowski
    Mobley
    Francis
(this lineup will be deadly, just throw the ball into Ming and then let him work. Anybody can nail the 3 from outside)

    Defensive shift:

    Yao
    Cato
    A. Griffin
    JJ
    Francis
(this lineup is probably the best defensive lineup)

Again, do not expect A. Griffin to make much of a difference if any. He's a spare part off the bench, nothing more. He can only play limited minutes because he's always getting hurt. That's a major reason why the Mavericks let him go and replaced him with Antwoine Jamison. Which player would YOU rather have?

If i remember correctly, A. Griffin can shoot pretty consistently from 15 feet when he was with the Mavs and play against the Kings.

And, is possible Mobley like 6th man and Pike like starter??

This could be good. Mobley could make very points from the bench.

    I want to see:

    Francis (39)
    Pike (20)
    Jim (25)
Mo taylor (35) -give him minutes an he can make all-star stats-
    Yao (35)

    Norris (9)
    Mobley (32)
    A.griffin (19)
    Cato (22)
    Padgett (5)

Give an oportunity to Adrian, if he don't help enoughly, put Nachbar.

We need both of them to get back quickly but neither of them are ready to play yet. I think Pike will come off the bench to back up Mobley and A. Griffin will backup JJ. I don't think either of them will get more than 12-15 minutes at the most initially. If Pike starts shooting consistantly he might get around 20 minutes later on in the season but I don't think he will start in many games.

I like our lineup as it stands now. I'd like to see them both come off the bench, but dont know that they have earnt the right to start. Maybe as the season progresses I'll have a different view.

Griffin and Pike are specialists. Pike being a 3pt shooter and Griffin being a lock down defender. They aren't gonna be starting.

On the other hand, it would be harder to shoot worse (28%) from two point range than Boki

I was under the impression that Eric Piatkowski would be starting no questions asked, but now that I think about it, who would we bench in favor of him?

Immediately I hear 4000 Rockets fans saying Mobley, and I wouldn't mind letting the former 6th man of the year try to win another one of those trophies...

    Boki= 0 minutes
Mobley and possibly Francis will also see a reduction, mainly because they play such a ridiculous amount.

Piatkowski and Griffin are solid players. I see Van Gundy looking at matchups and going with the hot hand.

Since when has Adrian Griffin become a LOCKDOWN defender??? A decent defender with a consistent 15ft jumper is more like it. Some depth is always nice but I dont expect either of them to be a major contributor.
