Swoly don't be silly. theres no cops around 6th street and tourist areas anymore. They have been redeployed to pass out speeding tickets instead
Bunch of wusses !!! This is how you deal with purse thiefs, so they get what they deserve!!! adp has the most unprofessional cops ive ever encountered. and they put the worst ones on the 6th st. beat - rookies and disciplinary problem cops. half of them look like they are on steroids. combine that w/ the homeless shelter 1 block off 6th street and all the drunkenness already going on and its a powderkeg. you hear about stabbings, punch-and-runs, fights every weekend on 6th st. a couple weeks ago a homeless woman slashed a couple w/ a knife after they didnt give her change. a few years ago my friend saw a drunken girl fall down on red river, went to help her up and her boyfriend came from behind and beat him so bad that he had to have facial reconstruction surgery. there was that kid last year who died after getting hit from behind and cracking his skull on the sidewalk (and the creepy accompanying story of the mom wanting to be artificially inseminated w/ her dead sons sperm so she could carry her grandson). ive been here for 15 years and it was never like this - its only been the last 5 years or so that its gotten scary down there. when i first moved here the worst thing going on down there was the crack dealers, and they were all operating on 8th street, right infront of the police station (hmm...). them two done goofed up! at least the one dude had a sense of humor about it - "ill never masturbate again". i was in guatemala a couple months ago and apparently vigilante justice is common there - they lynch rapists and child molestors, ect. supposedly tourists every once in awhile will get beat if they get caught taking pics of kids (kidnapping is common there) - so our trusty guidebooks all said "do not take pictures of children!".
finally saw this...guy got what he deserved..you don't hit a girl...period... however, i have to believe someone will/should be charged with assault...
I dunno what's funnier: 1) The guy is a former UT football player or 2) The guy didn't know wtf he was fighting In the words of Ronnie, one shot kid one shot!
If that happened there would not be a jury in America that would send Huerta to prison. If I was on the jury "Not guilty" No matter what...that dude sucker punched a girl...everything after that is his fault. DD
Right....go back and read my post in this thread about asking APD to help a woman that was hit by a guy on 6th street. APD is a joke.
Neither I or Carwin are saying Bobino didn't deserve what he got but are saying that Huerta at the same time though is risking some potentially serious legal repercussions. At the same time Shane Carwin as an MMA fighter is also thinking about the sport as a whole. A lot of people don't like MMA and some states have banned those type of fights. Whether Bobino deserved it or not news of a UFC fighter beating the crap out of someone outside a bar isn't good.
I don't know Texas law in this situation but from what I know of other laws both Bobino and Huerta could be charged with assault. Again depending on what Texas law says from what I have seen of other laws there is plenty to say that Huerta is guilty of assault and battery. Once Bobino backs away from attacking the woman it is no longer self-defense and Huerta can't claim self-defense since he initiates the fight with Bobino. Also the given that Huerta continues to pound Bobino for awhile on the ground goes beyond a proportional response which in most laws is mandated. Huerta acted honorably but the way the law is written honor isn't a factor in it and while you might choose to acquit him based on what you believe is honor to me that would not be doing your duty as juror if the law was clear.
Agreed...no matter how morally right Roger was, its still against the law right? That douche deserved to get the crap beaten out of him, but Roger has to be smarter and not get caught, etc...with evidence I can't see how he doesn't get charged and found guilty...both of them...
I agree with you. Huerta's rage pretty much took over in this situation. He's basically put himself in a bad situation. Who knows if he'll get off on the charges. He shouldn't get off, because what he did wasn't right, either, but I hope they're lenient if he doesn't. If he had been thinking with his head instead of just emotions, he would've charged at the guy right after he slugged the girl and forced him to attack him. Then at least he could say he was trying to defend himself and the girl. The video just makes it look like he was just trying to start a fight after the fact.
I contend that there is not a jury in America that would convict him of anything, regardless of the guidelines that are the law. Also the evidence is fairly vague leaving a reasonable doubt. DD
He wasn't the one seen in the last shot kicking the guy. It was someone from his camp. Google it and see the TMZ photoshops of the still frame. There's little to no video evidence of what Huerta actually did, so it would be a he said/she said battle. I'd side with Huerta there. As for the UT douche, he's clear cut Fubar'd if that chick presses charges, in which she should if she hasn't already.
