He had flashes playing with Hayward, i really though he will take it to next level this year, there were many articles how Jazz will be "his" team, all that talk...It's really fascinating how many players are their own worst enemies, and how some players do better with less.
What a bum. He should be greatful that God has blessed him with talent and wealth. He should play like a disciplined player. The Cavs should cut him. He will a detriment to the team.
There have been whispers of Hood having issues in the past. Zach Lowe and Adrian Woj both have discussed it and I believe Bobby Marks as well. The Jazz didn't believe in him and that is why he was dealt.
Quite simply because that’s how I would coach this situation. Openly defiant towards your head coach and the countless vets on the team is more than enough reason. Not to mention I’m sure there’s no “I won’t play if I don’t feel like it” clause in his contract. However, ideally, I would’ve imagined that he’d be kicking himself for not being able to suit of for the first game of the ECF. Then game two, throw him in the first quarter and see how he responds.
Read on the Utah’s board that Hood has a lot of anxiety issues. In the season opener, he rushed to the restroom right before tip off and threw up and pretty much through the game. They had to throw Mitchell in there. There was other cases throughout the season and apparently he had a throw up bucket at Duke on the bench. I don’t know if this was that case but it’s worth knowing
If that was the reason he refused to enter the game, it'd be understandable, maybe even excusable. But the mental issue will greatly limit him from being a dependable NBA player. Teams will be scared to give him a substantial contract.
I think it's safe to say that Hood won't be a Cav next season. Hood had better hurry up and get over himself and solve his anxiety issues fast, or his NBA career won't last much longer. You need thick skin to stick around in this league.
wasn't morey targeting him for our pick but UTA got him first, so then we ended up selecting capela instead?
Jae Crowder turned into a serviceable member of the jazz rotation. I bet he has a spot in the Rockets if he were let go while still in good condition.
