if we're talking about 2nd 3-peat bulls then we're talking about an older, slower, injury prone, less athletic pippen. and let's not forget how bad and inconsistent offensively he was. he game would still come down to rebounding where the bulls have the edge but people underestimate that 2nd 3-peat pippen is not the same as 1st 3-peat pippen
Larry Bird wrote in his book that Rodman could have been a better offensive player in his career cause he had the tools, but it seemed someone early in Rodman's NBA career told him to stick to defense.
The Bulls might win the game but it's not like it wouldn't be competitive. Assuming so is just nostalgia. First off, I really question if you watched Rodman if you think he was a shotblocker. He was an excellent man defender and rebounder, but he completely sacrificed his offensive game for those things. Yes, Bosh couldn't give up layups but he'd basically be free to roam off Rodman and double MJ or Pip. How many times do you think those guys are really going to pass through a double to Rodman? I personally think the Heat would take this because they are bigger and more athletic than the Rodman-era Bulls (2nd threepeat). I don't see 31-33 year-old Pip slowing down Lebron, and MJ would have his hands full with prime Wade.
pippen was actually my favourite TYPE of player outside of the rockets in the 90s length, quickness, smarts. but when he was brought into our team with hakeem and chuck, i kinda had a bad feeling. didnt think the team would do well with his game and sure enough, he became quitten. im too conflicted to take his jersey out of my closet nowadays.
Double MJ and lebron on pippen? Rodman has no O? If rodman is wide open under the basket then there is no need for much O. Yeah, he can't nail contested jumpers or 3's but he can make lay-ups and putbacks. Also, rodman is the greatest rebounder EVER as well as one of the best defenders. If Chuck Hayes or Battier gave lebron fits then Rodman would completely shut them down, Pippen can handle Bosh just fine, and MJ would would make Wade his gimp. Lebron is a PF playing SF and Bosh is a SF playing PF so it isnt a stretch to have Pippen on Bosh and Rodman on LBJ. Miami hasnt proven anything yet. They cant even beat Boston's big 3. a better question would be would LA's big 3 of Pau, Kobe, Artest or Odom beat Chicago's MJ, Pippen, Rodman.
See a lot of people saying just leave Rodman wide open yes he may not have any O but the will be able to dunk the ball if you leave him wide open. I see the Bulls winning because Mike could guard Wade and shut him down well maybe not shut him down but I dont think Wade will go off. Pippen will have some problems with Lebrom but he will make him work for his points. And I think Rodman will eat Bosh ass up.
That's great that everyone is trying to include the match ups with Pipp and Rodman. Jordan would dominate. Period.
If only this can actually happen....I want to see the 1st 3 peat Bulls vs. the Miami 3 a year from now...
Anyone who thinks the Heat big 3 could compete with the Bull's big 3 is insane. Jordan would completely dominate and Pippen (whom is one of my most hated players ever) would give Lebitch a lot of problems. Rodman and Bosh would likely cancel each other out, but if they played 10 games the Bulls big 3 would win at least 7.
Right now, I would take the Bulls 3. After a couple of years together, the Miami 3 will probably be the best ever.
in a big 3? no, in a whole team, well it;d be interesting since bynum is just a little.... better than longley, that being said, kukoc as 6th man is as good if not better than odom, and steve kerr is a way better 3 pt shooter consistently than anyone on the lakers squad (well shannon brown might really have improved to those levels, but its a little early)
Hakeem and Drexler + any one of the following Horry, Kenny the Jet Smith or Cassell would have owned.
anyone that says double off Rodman in a 3 on 3 setting has their opinion voided because it's clear they have never played a pickup game in their life.
