That because of our population. We have enough people in this country to fund major tournaments, even though the popularity is nothing compared to other sports.

If you ask strangers on the street who won last years Superbowl NBA Finals and World Series, I imagine most people would get at least 2/3. If you ask the same people who won the last 3 slams, they would probably say Uhhh Federer?

Doesnt change the fact that tennis should be putting out the best players year in and year out

    I BLAME THE USTA

The Williams Sisters would not be where they are today had they gone through that program.. i hear its borderline racist to minorities

A points system based on your wins is racist? When I played 2 out of the top 3 players in Texas were Asian. And both of the kicked my ass in tournaments. Not sure how their race affected their rankings.

They refuse to go into the inner city and get REAL athletes, same reason why America sucks at tennis and futbol.. Name a futbol player faster than Derrick Rose, Westbrook, or John Wall. These athletes if they were exposed to soccer at an early age and had the same the drive to be soccer players that they had to be NBA Players, could easily make the American FIFA Team respectable or even challenge Spain and Brazil.. Its been proven its harder to dribble a basketball going full speed than a soccer ball

America is stubborn they get these clean cut spoiled rich kids(with no tats lol) who were pushed by their parents to play the sport. And have no incentive to win or lose, going up againist hungry lions for poor countries, who play and master the game everyday. Just think their is probably 2 or 3 black kids in america right now playing basketball, well in 3rd world countries instead of basketball they play futbol. America has the athletes, they just dont have the attention, that and the huge salaries of NBA Players doesnt help

No racism here, give a african american and a non-african-american the same time to learn or master something with intense focus, i guarentee you the african-american will do it BETTER 9/10.. not being pro-black but its the truth.. and history has shown us that

Too hard to push tennis inner city. Sport takes a lot of money to get into. Pure athleticism can only get you so far. Go read on Djoko's life story. His father had to take out loans from gangsters in order to support his tennis career as a junior.

how many black males play tennis...... 1 that i know off, and he is talented Tsonga( but doesnt take his training seriously)

how many black females play tennis( 2 in recent memory)... and how have they done

Its becoming quite clear especially after Gabby Douglass achieved something that hadnt ever been done in GYMNASTICS History... lol i wouldnt be shocked if she, her mother and brother were the only black people in the stadium.

That Blacks dont suck at sports dominated by non-blacks... we dont play them

give us the same drive and motivation as you are giving to your counterparts, and we will do better. Its not bragging, its the truth, just like when people say asians have the highest IQ's, thats the truth. But Blacks(espcially american-blacks, are able to process things and have underrated intellingence, if they have a chance to use it instead of throw their life away doing crimes).

But of course now im a racist for saying this... RIGHT

When people say that America doesn't develop young urban players I think it's wrong. Look at what happened to those hyped up players like Scoville Jenkins and Donald Young? I also thought like most people they would do big things, but unfortunately it never came to pass.

I think the problem with American tennis in general is lack of specialization in the said sport of athletes at a young age. In Europe by age 9, all those future pro's only play tennis. By 16/17 they are ready to go pro. In America, when these top juniors are of that age, they are thinking about playing in college which generally is the wrong path if one wants to reach the ultimate level.

    Malivai Washington
    James Blake
    Chanda Rubin
    Zina Garrison

Never mentioned anything about racism, you brought that up. By naming only Tsonga, who actually has a great work ethic from what I've read, and the Williams sisters, you don't know appear too much about the tour.

Additionally I don't think you know very much about junior tennis. Donald Young was the junior of the future, and guess what! He was black. He didn't pan out. I don't even understand why you are race baiting, I never once mentioned race.

i never race-baited, but their is nothing wrong with black people being happy when someone of the race achieves something. Especially when young black kids see this, they think.. HEY.. that could be me!

So when you call blacks racist for supporting black athletes its wrong, and especially in this day and age its pretty much impossible for the AVERAGE black person to be racist. Learn about what racism is, and then get back to me

    I dont race-bait

The only american junior on the MENS side that actually impresses me somewhat is Ryan Harrison, but he too much of a temper... similar to a young Andy Murray without the variety on his shots

    another USTA product

Federer didn't have a coach for a long time also. Does that make him have a poor work ethic?
