Nice list. I would swap out Prince/ Sign of Times with 1999 no Parliament/Funkadelic (Maggot Brain)? Bad Brains freakin rule! (the self-titled Roir album my all time fav) Hows about: Butthole Surfers/ Locust Abortion Technician the Big Boys/ Fat Elvis (cd list not album list) Devo/ Pioneers Who Got Scalped-Anthology (cd)
One thing I want to add - compilations should never be included in a list of greatest albums. An album should be a cohesive work of art, not a scrapbook of past accomplishments.
Behad I used to think you were kind of jacked but after this post I have to think you are cool, even if you are jacked. I totally agree on all fronts and I was about to list two of your three and then the third reminded me about itself. Also, for the truly jacked and self confident about their masculinity - Queen: A Night At The Opera But far and away the best album ever: Beatles - White Album And by the way, much props to whoever compiled the list to include the Richard D. James Album. Aphex is the bomb to all of us who have dabbled in the dark side of life, namely @!$@#$#@#
I don't understand how The Joshua Tree, War, or Achtung Baby aren't on there. Maybe not all three, but at least one of them. Dirty is the best Sonic Youth album. I was impressed to see The Bends instead of Radiohead's other overrated stuff. I also agree with dimsie, Revolver is the best Beatles' album...by far Hole? Come on.
Yeah I kind of get the feeling this list was compiled by someone who wanted to not include any obvious choices because not having the joshua tree or achtung displays that you are trying to go past the obvious and into the obscure. Those two albums would be in the top ten of anyone who listened to them in their car driving between two major cities in Texas.... ahhh... the memories....
Wow...I don't agree with much of anything on that list. No U2, No Springsteen? One Beatles album? Give me Abbey Road or the White Album. Like Manny said, wierd Bob Dylan choice too...
