that's why adelman using yao in the high post will give yao more touches and keeps the defense guessing. we need yao to control the defense he's facing, not the other way around. when yao is at his best, he's unstoppable.

Wow. That's sad if it is the best post you've read in your life. Who gets more blame doesn't determine who the better player of the two is. That reasoning of using whom the fans blames the most is flawed. BTW, Yao took blame for the loss; I guess he believes himself a superstar.

In response to the article, it's much to-do about nothing. All this article did was turn this thread into another McGrady vs. Yao thread. McGrady has never had a problem deferring to Yao when he has struggled. The Utah series Bill Ingram referenced was played in Van Gundy's system. Why Ingram is using that as support for his argument is beyond me. That point is irrelevant since Adelman is here now and will implement a system that will put both Mac and Yao in better positions for easier shots. If Adelman is as advertised, the days of struggling offense are gone.

it's not who the fan blames. it's who the media points to. it's who the general public points to. if u ask a casual fan, they thought yao did great if u look at the stats. most of the laker people i talk to thought yao dominated the series.

then u said why the rockets lost? they would say b/c of tmac and also JVG.

i also believe tmac should get most of teh blame. he disappointed me in ALL the road games. i wanted to punch his face after every road game.

For those who are saying tracy is not asgood as he was in orlando, remember that stretch where he was forced to pickup the slack without yao?. he was putting up 29-7-7.

He's numbers have been lower here because we had a coach who preached, defense and more defense. now with Coach AD on board, we'll see a more offensive minded tracy. adelman has allready said he's gonna put a great deal of emphasis on getting tracy better and easier shots off the ball. tracy is gonna have a big year offensive wise.

he was also VERY inconsistent last yr. i don't think that's the case this year. he should have a pretty good rhythm going into the first game w/ an offseason under his belt.

One thing that is really good is with Scola joining the team and Francis coming back we have a player with good size at every position

    PG- Steve Francis 6'3"
    SG- Tracy McGrady 6'6"
    SF- Shane Battier 6'8"
    PF- Luis Scola 6'9"
    C- Yao 7'5"

which is why he shouldn't be taking turnaround fadeaway jumpshots over Derek Fisher

I'd have loved for Yao to get the ball on more possessions late in game 7 against Utah...if he weren't so busy getting his hook shots blocked by Kirilenko and the ball stripped by Mehmet f*cking Okur.

Losing that series was a collective effort on both Yao and Tracy's part.

dude, he got 5-6 inches on fisher. he took the right shots. he just sucked w/ his jumper.

tmac was not very explosive last yr. he could not drive past fisher all the time. when ak47 or giricek was on him, he did take them to the rim.

why is that so hard to understand? tmac did the basic of basketball. shorter guy on u -> u shoot over them. taller guy than u or ur size, u take him to the hole. i thought everyone understood this.

fisher was stronger and quicker than tmac. his jumper was on and off all year.

if u guard kobe w/ eric snow, he uses the fadeaway. if u guard a midget w/ lebron, he posts him up.

    that's simple basic fundamental basketball.

This is obviously from a banned site. Probably hoops.world. Why do people still read a site that's spent ten years making stuff up, passing it off as inside info and being wrong every single time? And why are they even still publishing it? You'd think after years of getting every single thing wrong they'd get embarassed or something. Then again, basso and Jorge are still posting like they were right all along about Iraq so the human mind is obviously capable of great and gymnastic denial.

Lock this stuff up. And maybe figure out some kind of permanent sticky that warns of a ban for posting new threads based on ho.opsworld articles. I'd rather get my basketball scoops from the Weekly World News. And I'd just as soon never again click on a thread linked to www.*******************.com

Tracy is decieving with his height, everybody trips off of how tall he really is.There was a picture of tracy and magic johnson and tracy looked like he was magic size or a inch shorter.Tracy is a legit 6'8 maybe even taller on some dayz.

I remember KG saying that in an interview with "Kicks" magazine. It was a three way interview with him, Duncan, and Tracy. I think he said T-Mac was probably 6'10". Their heights did look very close in the photos taken for the article.

I agree that "the best player on any team gets the credit when a team wins and gets the blame when the team loses." Last season, who got the credit when Rox won, and who got the blame when Rox lost?

Now in the coming season, we'll see...

Shooting over Fisher is fine. Taking 18 foot turnaround fadeaway jumpshots isn't. Just square up and shoot over the midget. Or post him him in the low post like he did during the regular season. The 18 foot turnaround fadeaway was taken out of Tracy's repertoire in the playoffs.
