Y'all are underrating Reggie Williams, though he isn't guaranteed a spot, I think he makes it over Brooks.
Smith, Young, Henriguez and either Brooks, Brewer, Covington.

This...Thank you.... This is how Morey operates. He also will almost certainly not be coming close to the lux tax anyways, so there is no reason not to use up a little smidget of cap space to bring in a solid roll-player veteran, and sort out the final roster later after he sees how the CHEMISTRY plays out in training camp.

Also, its a great gesture to his coaching staff.... which I assume will get a major say-so in who gets cut this year.

They have their choices now to go along with their core 8 or 9 players-

    -Defensive wing stopper- Brewer
    -Play-making perimeter bench scorer- Brooks
    -Floor spacing 3/4- Casspi, Williams
-Young promising prospects- Young, Covington, Henriquez

Only after training camp and preseason will Morey and McHale know for sure which of these pieces will be the most valuable come May & June.... its WAY worth it now in August to spend a little bit extra to make 100% sure you are keeping the right guys.

Well said. An extra specialist option for cheap is cool with me.

He's better than those two scrubs Casspi and Williams.

Now teams have a choice between Hack-a-Howard and Hack-a-Brew. Hack-Asik just wasn't working last season.

I can guarantee that G Smith will NOT be waived....traded, maybe.

Do you kow who had the highest TS% last season? GSmith! He not only led the Rockets but he is among the top ten in the league. He had a phenomenal season for a 21 year old undraftee.

G Smith is young with great work ethic, and unlike some of the players, he will improve. If he works on his post plays, midrangers, floaters, and D with his feet instead of his hands, he has just as much chance as TJone or DMo for our PF position.

At age 28, one would think he isn't that old and can have a resurgence, thus not washed up. Not guaranteed of course, but worth the small risk.

i think he can get us about 4 pts, 2 reb, .5 stls, .7 assist in about 10 mins a game with 41% fg %, 67% FT, 29% 3pter but he has intangibles like Shane Battier

I think he makes the #2 at SF behind Parsons. Hoping Parsons returns this year with his rookie year defense and sophomore year offense. Garcia, Howard, Asik, Brewer, Beverly. We're slowly building a very capable icer squad that can completely disrupt an opponent's offensive rhythm while still being able to score at a competitive clip.

i think brewer besides stats can mentor Harden sort of like how Dream mentors Dwight

brewer can teach harden how to play defense which will make him truly into a all around player. i like this signing alot

Ronnie Brewer replaces James Anderson. Casspi replaces Delfino. Howard replaces Greg Smith. Camby replaces Thomas Robinson.

Reggie Williams likely gets cut unless there's a trade creating roster space.

Reggie Williams will work well at the 2 next to Lin in the second rotation. He won't have to produce much offense, just witness the pick-and-roll.

I agree with you that Morey is always trying to push the envelop of roster spots in order to find more talent, but last year was a special case. Last year was different because a lot of them were only here to make the salaries work from the S&Ts.
