Probably IDIOT honestly. Interesting news to me because I wasn't sure where his NBA-ability stood. I haven't seen 'contributor' from anything I've seen, but I've read the coach's thoughts on him and they were complimentary in a way that shows promise.
I don’t. I can’t see him being a positive. He’s coming off a year where he barely played. Another year older. I’d rather hope for a Tyson Chandler buy out later in the season. It wouldn’t work against every team but the idea of having at least CP3 or Harden along with either Capela or Tyson on for 48 minutes a game is enticing.
He is young and athletic. He can set screens and catch lobs for now. He can work on developing the rest of his game later. Good backup at C, giving us options behind Clint. Nene will be a good vet to learn a lil smthn from. Qi is a different type of C to me. He can develop more into a unique stretch 5.
It will be interesting to see the terms of his contract. I just missed JR's post. I'm surprised it's a 3 yr contract. That augurs well for Melton.
Yeah, he had fallen off a bit this last run. Those rim-blocked dunks were a bit depressing. You are probably right. I still like to think he could give us some spot minutes, but that's sentimental thinking. Looks like Ryan Anderson will be our stretch center
CP3/Melton/MCW Harden/Gordon Ennis/Green/Edwards Tucker/Melo/Ryno/Clark Capela/Hartenstein/Nene/Zhou/Onu Wonder what trade is coming?
Can someone explain to me how two way contracts work or what they are? Like if we have 15 people on a roster can we sign someone on top of that with them? Do we have the right to keep them even if someone else is interested? And if we wanted to play them in a regular game do we have to waive someone from out 15? HELP!
You have a 15 man main roster. 3 of these players are allowed to be assigned to the G-League at a time You have two 2way spots on top of that. Total of 17 players. Nobody has to be waived. You have 13 active players on the main roster. 2 way player can only be with the main team for a maximum of 45 days before their contract converts into a NBA minimum contract.
I'm hoping Nanu is gone. The guy has not really shown any promise and is just wasting a roster spot now. Too bad he is a costly cut, otherwise I'm sure we would just cut him. I hope either Qi or Isiah emerge as good players so we can stop relying on Nene as a back up, he really did not look too good last season.
I think they will consolidate two players into one at the trade deadline leaving one open for a buyout. Something like... Ryno, Nanu and a first for Shumpert Then sign someone who gets bought out with whatever is left out of the MLE
This team needs to get younger. Experience is good, but you can't go out there with a bunch of core guys in their mid 30's. I'd like to see Hartenstein and Qi compete for the backup 5 spot. Melton for some occasional minutes in the backcourt. Ennis is not exactly young, but he would be one of the youngest rotation players. I just wish we had some young wings coming through the system rather than C's. I'm certain Melo and Tucker will play a lot of C against the Warriors. It's not a position I envision we have 1-2 years to develop someone.
