I want to make sure you guys know that I do not know if the player Rudy was talking about and the player I am hearing about from others is the same player. I just don't know (which is why this initial post wasn't as helpful as I originally stated)...

On the player I am hearing about though I now know for a fact the Rockets want this player in Houston.

My goodness, Clutch, don't you think you exaggerate the secrecy principle a little bit? At least give us a hint, that we have something to think about. [IMG]

I FIGURED IT OUT!! A player the Rockets want in a Houston uniform...how bout Shaquille O'Neal?

Here's the trade: O'Neal, and Kobe Bryant (a throw in) for Cato, Bullard, Devin Gray, Cuttino Mobley (sign and trade), and Walt Williams

    Am I right Clutch? [IMG]

I guess Yinka Dare. His size is a key attribute, but I think the Rockets love him for his passing skills which are underrated.

My guess is either Al Harrington or Jermaine, the other ONeal.

It has to be a big man...center or power forward that is obviously on a playoff team(as hinted by the Clutchster).

I think we can rule out L.A., Portland and Utah as teams willing to do business with the Rockets. Also, I don't see anyone on the Suns that the Rockets want next year, aside from Jason Kidd(like thats gonna happen).

Camby's name has been brought up a few times, but why would NY trade him?? That leaves Miami, Indiana and Philadelphia. It's gotta be 'Zo!! Just kidding.

My bet is on Theo Ratliff, Matt Geiger or Austin Croshere....hardly anything to get excited about unless its Ratliff.

Clutch: Do you think by any chance this supposed deal could tie in with the recent Rockets-Swift developments? We don't have nearly enough trade bait to pull of deals for a Top-3 pick in Swift, and yet another young impact player. We are pretty limited in what we can offer. [Praying that we can somehow land a Top-3 berth as Charlotte did last summer...]

How about this: The Suns are in dire need of a big, defensive presence. They may pursue Mutombo, but that would be costly. Cato for Shawn Marion. Would you do it? Do you think they [the Suns] would do this? It fills their need of a defensive presence and allows them to push Luc Longley back to the bench [where he belongs]. They could then just slide one of Cliff Robinson/Rodney Rogers into the starting small forward spot with the return of Googs to the '4'. The Rockets add a 20 year old small forward who is exciting, runs the break well, has tremendous leaping ability, and oozes with athleticism. He would fit in beautifully in our system without demanding shots [he scores on fast breaks, and garbage points]. Then again, that leaves Pig Miller as our starting center. Ouch.

Surely Marion's upside (potential) is too great for the risk of Cato awaking from his slumber

    Here's some breaking news*****

1.) To move up and get Stromile, you lose Cato! End of story.

2.) What the NBA wants, the NBA gets!

Come lottery selection time, I would bet on a shocker!!

Doc Rocket with a stunning debut! Interesting stuff. Interesting on Cato too. It doesn't really surprise me, but are the Rockets really going to have the opportunity to move up?

I mean, sure they want Swift, but wanting to be there and getting there are two different things.

I hate these long post, its takes so long to find new information, but there is always something. So Clutch, are you saying that Dr.Rockets is on to something? Perhaps on the same lines that you were thinking?
