I'm starting to like Marcus Camby Elden Campbell Eddie Jones Al Harrington Jonathan Bender ------------------ Rockets fans wanted at hoopsboards.com Draft Chat, NBA Chat, Team Chat, and more!
I agree with Azim on the Bo Outlaw point. I would be ecstatic if the Rockets landed Outlaw. He has the versatility to defend both SFs and PFs, is an excellent defender that plays with incredible intensity, heart and hustle. He is not spectacular like some of the other names, but he provides the intangibles this team needs. The overall record would improve drastically if the Rockets somehow land him. A player I thought the Rockets would pursue up until the point he had issues with Francis was Tariq Abdul Wahad. He provides a lot of intensity, toughness and excellent defense to go along with an athletic frame. Austin Croshere would be a good choice as he is capable of stepping out and shooting the jumper. However, I doubt Indy will let him go. I'd like to take one dart at the board guess also which probably is way off but worth a shot. Remember that 6-9 wing player that Charlotte signed, Eddie Robinson? He seemed to be a high flyer and was almost put into the dunk contest for Jamison until they chose his Ricky Davis also of the Hornets instead. This one is just a dart at the board, though, the Rockets probably arent even considering him. There are plenty of possibilities. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
My money is on Marcus Camby. He would fit in great with the Rockets, and I know he has been in some Knick trade offers. It could be Croshere though. However, the Pacers are pretty much stacked for the future with young guys. The Knicks need a center to replace Ewing when he moves on, and they have made that no secret. I believe Camby's contract is similar to Cato's- maybe just maybe that could be the trade. If it was, what a move for the Rockets! ------------------ [This message has been edited by The Cat (edited May 11, 2000).]
If Rudy said "we need to get the ball rolling and get on this", it has to be a player not in the playoffs. How could they get moving on it if he's still playing? On second thought, maybe it's thacabbage's guy. The Sixers are just about cooked. ------------------ [This message has been edited by grummett (edited May 11, 2000).]
Popeye-- Who do you think the guy is? And also Popeye, Do you know if the rockets are interested in Kenyon Martin? ------------------ President of the Moochie Norris FAN CLUB
popeye-better release some good info. Clutch may outdo your 125 reply thread I was thinking the same before, but it can be taken either way. It could be playoffs, because he wouldn't want the information getting out, and then having a bout of controversy smack in the middle of the playoffs. But, it'd narrow it down a lot more if it was a lottery team. And there's also always the wonderful tampering clause. If it was a lottery team, it'd narrow it down to about 9 teams, cause Orlando has 3 picks, Chicago has 2, and we can't trade with ourselves. I think the new Vancouver management is worth noting, as Daly was not a "player's coach" and he was run out of Orlando by the players. (Daly isn't the coach, but is management). Reef isn't a so-so player though. If we managed to grab Kandi and/or Odom/the Clipper pick, we'd be in great shape. That trade credit could be good, as we all know how the Clippers aren't exactly money spenders, and we can save them a little over 4.5 million (counting 15% clause) popeye-you gonna give us a little more insight ------------------ Rockets fans wanted at hoopsboards.com Draft Chat, NBA Chat, Team Chat, and more!
Theo Ratliff is at the top of my wish list. defense defense defense he's like the old OT on crack! ------------------
I do not know who Clutch is referring to. I have heard a lot of things this past week.I was "up north" this past week and in LA for two days, and heard mostly educated guesses from people I do not normally talk to. My guess is: If it is a single player deal, L.Smith. If it is a multi-faceted deal, (i.e. trade, picks swap,etc...) we are looking at something involving the Magic or LA-Clips. If it is not an outside deal, my best guess is that Mobes has decided on his contract and it is one the Rox can live with. My Fantasy Odom and Kandiman for Walt, Drew and Cato AND a swap of first round picks, which we use to get Kenyon Martin. I usually wake up sweating and breathing heavy by then.
popeye-what if we added KT and a future 1st rounder as well...we go from one of the weaker front line, to perhaps the strongest....Francis, Shandon, Odom, Martin (or Swift!), Olowakandi, with Mobley, Moochie, Rogers, and Hakeem off the bench is pretty sick ------------------ Rockets fans wanted at hoopsboards.com Draft Chat, NBA Chat, Team Chat, and more!
As I have said before: I like the way you think,Nike! If it took KT also. Get it done. I know we are talking fantasy here but, I have an opinion of Odom that borders on insanity sometimes. To see him live, pacing the game, running the floor and displaying his stuff is almost religious. Try this on though. A perfect blend of Kevin Garnett's versatility(he can play any position), Kobe Bryant's flash(well almost) and Magic's eyes (he watches everything). All he needs is a decent team and a couple of guys (Francis, Mobes, Shandon, Mooch, Hakeem) to make him shine.
hehe....it's a great dream world. ------------------ Rockets fans wanted at hoopsboards.com Draft Chat, NBA Chat, Team Chat, and more!
Is someone that is not in the playoffs as the players that we would like have made themselves look good so their stock have risen to the point that we are out of contention , to me that makes sense. It probably boils down to either Vancouver , Clips or maybe even the Bulls ... why Bulls ? what is the name of their other 1st round pick they had ? well , that guy ! never know... Clip , Clutch said it was not that exciting so I don't think is Odom or Kandy man ..... Vancouver... could it be were getting Othella back ? humm????? we'll see. ------------------ What now ?
POPEYE's 2001 Fantasy Team: Dream/Kandi/TMass Martin/Thomas/Rogers/Najera Odom/L.Smith/Bullard Anderson/Mobely Francis/Norris ... but I agree with NIKEstrad that if there was any possibility to that, it would probably need to include our future first rounder, our exception, and probably KT. ... but what a team, for a long time to come, especially if we kept KT. ------------------ the more I know, the more I know I don't know...
Two more cents from the source... For a fact Rudy T likes Mike Miller in this draft but he said it is still up in the air because there is quite a bit of talk about moving up if the Rockets don't get lucky and move up on their own (in other words, win one of the top 3 in the Lotto)... Also said the chances of re-signing Cuttino Mobley are almost "locked in" .... feeling is very good about re-inking Cat to a contract. ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
3 pointer you mean Artest If bulls were invloved i hate to say it but could it be Mobley for number 1 pick I'd hate to think what gives you nightmare Popeye. Perhaps we need RF34 out there searching the shopping malls for rockets front office staff and mobiles. Smeg ------------------
I say by the end of the weekend this thread will catch popeyes Smeg __________________________________ CUT TINO ------------------
