Look, staying with a loser won't make you a winner by osmosis. You have to change out an important piece to make the switch to champion. You have to get all the pieces working together. Also- rans are a jumble. Champions are a puzzle with the edges and the center done. You just plug in the fits. you don't have to change much. We're a long way from putting together the perimeter and corners, but at least we have the center done. Pretending otherwise won't get the puzzle finished.
As important as this game was, the Rockets faltered. They are lucky they are in the playoffs. It's really going to take some tooling by JVG and management to get this team to compete w/ the Kings, Spurs, Lakers, and T-Wolves.

on the serious tip, who would make it pass the first round of Banwagoner Playoffs'? I'm thinking the brackets would look like this: 1. A-Train vs 6. NWOlife 2. Hillboy vs 5. sup123 3. ZRB vs 4. Yetti The most interesting first round matchup of bandwagoners would be...hmmm.....they are all good matchups if you think about cause they all got their bandwagoning ways down pretty good around this time of year. Should be intense. But I'm picking NWolife to beat A-train in a historical upset and to go on and win it all from there. Though watchout for the other new bandwagoner on the rise, sup123. The guy has a great will and determination and can drop you with 100 negative posts in the span of a few mintues. A-Train and ZRB have the experience though so its just going to be a hell of a playoff.
Like your odds, Stoke. It has been hard rooting for this team for the past 5 years. It really stings to watch other teams play in the playoffs and not see your beloved Rockets. They have been my team for 2 decades! To see stupid mistakes by this team night in and night out (turnovers, excessive dribbling, one-on-five's, etc.) SUCKS!
BTW, I am a PROUD Rockets bandwagoner since 1971/72. Why my bandwagon is soooo old, it's a covered wagon! (Rimshot!) Lately though, it's been more like riding a merry-go-round than a wagon ride...
This thread is hilarious. Wasn't there one just like this a few weeks back saying the Rockets wouldn't make the playoffs? And it - like this one - gave half-assed justification. I was hoping this would have been started by the same poster so I could laugh even harder, but either way, I should thank the thread starter for this thread for possibly reverse-jinxing the Rockets into the second round, similar to the other thread. What "important piece" did the Rockets change right before they won their first title? Or the Bulls? The Lakers? The Spurs?
Rocketguy, do you really think the Rockets will pass the 1st round? What kind of crack are you on? Minnesota has an offense that runs so smooth, the Rockets usually don't know what the hell to do. They really need to get Webber (from the Webber thread) or another solid PF and get a solid PG through free agency or the draft.
Point to where exactly in my post I said the Rockets will go past the first round... I was simply criticizing the half-assed, pointless thread and its starter. That said, no, I don't expect them to go past round 1, but I wouldn't be horribly surprised if they did. Really happy, but not really surprised. I don't think there can be any huge upsets in the West except for 1 vs. 8 in round 1.

Well, tonight shows that the Rockets won't pass the 1st round. No hustle, no offense, Francis didn't come through, and besides Mobley, no one helped out Yao. The Jazz played the game as if it was a playoff game. Why didn't the Rockets play it as if it was a playoff game? I guess since they're in, they just want to sit back and relax instead of preparing for the playoffs. It just sucked...
all i would said is tha i have hopes from the rockets and i'm praying for the clutch #3 and IMO thats the bottom line
