It is amazing you people doubt RocketGuy when he has just about as much inside track info as I do

Ahh...we finally agree on something! I have no doubt that you and the RocketGuy have the same quality of information.

What happened to draft Yao and I'm gone? Remember...it came directly from Francis? You know...the Yao Ming won't be a Rocket longer than 15 minutes thing. Now it's draft Yao and if he's a bust I'm gone? Interesting. Sounds like somebody is doing a little back peddling and trying to save face come draft day.

Your sources don't seem to be too accurate or too consistent. Mobley's appearance on the Best Damn Sports show sure did shoot down that claim that Francis wants Jay Williams, didn't it?

DaDakota is perfectly correct. Francis will be signed to a long term extension before Yao ever plays a game for the Rockets, so how would he bolt?

Steve needs to just go take care of his medical problems and shut the hell up. Does he really think he's gonna punk us like he punked the Grizzlies?

Steve doesn't know if Ming is gonna be our only acquisition. What if we manage more? Another solid player?

Troy, since you know the players, ask Steve how he intends to do this. He is a restricted free agent at the end of his contract, and as such will have to play at least one more year with the Rockets after the 2002/2003 season.

I don't see New York or Chicago offering Steve a deal. Chicago will draft Jay Williams this year, and New York cannot afford to offer Steve anything but exceptions. If he tests the free agent market after his 4th year with the Rockets, he is unlikely to get a max salary offer sheet, as most teams are over the cap, and those that aren't will be after Tim Duncan.

Besides, Steve has already publically stated that he will sign an extension with the rockets if they they offer the max.

You guys are way too hard on Troy. I think we've been spoiled by the overall level of intelligence that is prevalent on this board. It's nice to be reminded every now and then that morons have opinions, too. And just because he's a jackass, that doesn't mean Troy hasn't spoken to some people within the organization. He may even consider some of them his friends. Now whether or not they consider him a friend remains to be seen. I like to picture Troy as this annoying little guy that kind of sticks to the periphery and throws in comments every now and then. He's dressed completely in Rockets gear with his Steve Francis jersey on(because, you know, they're good buds!) noone really likes him, but we all feel sorry for him because he doesn't seem to have any friends and he's probably partially r****ded, and so we put up with him.

So cut the guy some slack, guys. I'm sick of the idiot discrimination on this board. ;)

MAN! THat is a true friend. . .
I rope my homeboy into signing under market value. .
ONLY TO BOLT ON HIM THE NEXT YEAR??
If I'm Cuttino . . .I'm pissed.

Veterans? These guys act like they been in the league for 10yrs
Who are these Vets?
Rice? GET ON THAT SORE FOOT AND HIT SOME JUMPERS
WALT? HE WILL NOT BE HERE NEXT YEAR
Cato? GET OFF YA *SS AND WE WOULD NOT BE DRAFT MING!
Mo T? REBOUND!! BANG!! KT IS BETTER THAN YOU!!!
Moochie? DRIBBLE DRIBBLE DRIBBLE oops weren't you out of the League for a minute?

year. . .but they OF ALL PEOPLE don't give any quarter for that?

If they cannot see that we a playoff team now. . . I worry about them

Sounds like a ploy to get their homeboy
to hang with them . .. this is not Romper Room
or the CLub house. . . .

I say this because.
1. I don't wanna think Steve and Cuttino are this selfish and self centered and plain stupid.

Oh I like this one....For one this has been my seats for many years I plan on keeping them....Now mmm do I always sit in them?
No
When I sit elsewhere I give these seats to neighbors or friends or brothers friends.
Do I have other seats? YEP!

Just because you know people does not mean you get free tickets to great seats...They are just people who must put in request just as much as the next person.
I am not star struck, to me seeing these guys just someone I know no biggie...
I think I have been star struck one time in my life and that was when I sat down and ate breakfast with Jim Rhome.
Sounds Corney but he has a amazing personality!

Troy, you mentioned in a previous thread that the Rockets had hit a "huge snag" with China that we'd hear about in a few days. That was May 25th. I might have missed the announcement; what was it?

If there was a timed contest for "first to give an intelligent insider tidbit" between Troy, TRG, and Rocket!!! how many days would it take for us to hear one of the following?:

Troy: "My cool insider clothes told me..."
TRG: "My invisible friend told me..."
!!!: "TRG told me..."

Apparently Shandon Anderson is planning on signing with the ROCKETS!! For the exception! I can't imagine what sort of under-the-table deals CD worked out, but I think SA and Pippen would give us a great defensive core if this happens.

5: Dream
4: Barkley
3: Pippen
2: Shandon
1: Maloney (if healthy... hope to god)

Bench
Othella Harrigton
Micahel Dickerson
Cuttino Mobley
Matt Bullard

If we could get a good spot up shooter, like a poor-man's Glen Rice from somwehere (Walt Williams or Bonzi Wells from POR for a future #1?) I think we'd be solid. If Hakeem and Maloney stay healthy, of course.

Basically, its a good time to be a Rockets fan. We need to time to gel, and a strike-shortened season (+ disappointing playoff loss) should not be the catalyst for gutting the team.

GO ROCKETS

Sincerely
TBFC

Thanks for answering the question about your seats, Troy.

Now for the third time, can you tell me why Knicks or Bulls plus Steve has a better chance of "winning now" than Rockets with Steve plus Ming? There are so many holes in your story, all raised in this thread, all ignored by you. This one's just my personal favorite.

Another attack...
But if you must post pathetic comments like this and the mods allow it as a personal attack on someone so be it.

Hey Troy, why don't you answer some of these questions people are asking. Just ignore people making fun of you...

Why would Steve leave for Chi or NY? How could he leave if he signed an extension? Don't everyone know that Yao is not going to make an instant impact? Kobe didn't, KG didn't, Tracy didn't? What if they got Dunleavy and he's a bust? There's a good chance of that? Maybe Butler won't be a bust but at #1 if they don't get Ming shouldn't they trade it for Odom,8,12 or a 3way with chitown, or something better than just butler or dunleavy?

That is not a big question but with the lineup the bulls have in place with just a few added tweaks they have a very good shot at making the playoffs. Jalen Rose is the lock they just need the key.

Knicks just need better coaching and they will be fine it is no secret the East is weak and making the playoffs is alot easier than if your team is in the West.

You put Francis on the Bulls and that team is dangerous.
Now why would he bolt to the Knicks? NO clue but he has choices......

That trade would put some smiles on some players faces but it is a longshot.
Dunleavy I would take the risk over Ming anyday Butler is a lock if you ask me...He is explosive and very aggressive.
I like them both

The question is Will he or won't he sign the extension, thats what everyone should be worried about. Just because a player says he will sign it can all change in a day with the wrong moves.

TroyBarros glad t have you back. I may be one of the few who actually enjoy your posts for the most part. I don't doubt your connections. And am glad to here reliable imformation even when it's not good news. a bit of controversy is good for the board.

That being said, you must agree just because you, or anyone else on this board, hangs out with ballers doesn't make you knowledgeable about the game. At least not as knowledgeable as Rudy and CD. How can you know what kind of player Ming is going to become.

So if that is true then you have to accept that Rudy and CD are doing what's best for the Rockets and not what's best for Francis.
As far as what Francis and others think it's good that they have an opinion but that's all it is, an opinion. I am a Francis fan but the bottom line is he is a talented basketball player who can help this team even more by becoming better at his craft but the minute he thinks he's bigger than the team... well let's just say don't let the door hit your a$$ on the way out, Francis.

I know Francis wants to win. And for that I applaud him. But it doesn't qualify him to make decisions for the Rockets. He doesn't know what's best for the Rockets. I'm not even sure he knows what's best for him.

If Ming is half the player that many claim he will be, he will be great for this team. I don't know if he is), but if he is,... if he can shoot the outside jumper and draw his defender out of the post to cover him opening up the lane, ... if he can pass like Divac to an open francis and Mobley,... if he can block Carter and Mornings shots and rebound with the best of them average 10 -12 rebounds a game... then the Rockets would be foolish to pass on him even if it means hurting a few peoples feelings. I'll leave it up to Rudy and Cd to decide that and hopefully Francis jumps on the Ming Bandwagon cause barring red tape(pun) it looks like it's going to happen whether he likes it or not. It's obvious he is not there yet.

Rudy's not going anywhere...fact!

Also, every trade proposal that has come in " has been for #1 so they can draft Ming." You would die if you heard some of these trade offers!!

From what I have been told to my face, Ming goes one or the pick gets traded...period.

Troy, I'm sure we know some of the same people...and I know where you're coming from. Ultimately, your insight may happen. However, I hope not. Talk to Steve about the guys and their guests on the plane for this next season, see what he says.

I'm crossing my fingers hoping your info doesn't work out the way that I KNOW FOR A FACT it actually could.

The operative sentence is "I'll demand a trade!" We'll see....

Troy...or is it Mattress Mac????????

Just because you know players and some people in the organization doesn't mean squat unless you're in with CD, Rudy and Les.

The players are employees and most people don't have a clue what is going to happen. In buisness, most of the time the top big-wigs make decsions that the rest of the employees don't have a clue about until they get a memo.

The players don't know anything because management won't tell them because they would leak it out.

BTW- I know people in the organization and have worked with them, and my lips are sealed!!!
