I still can't believe that CD gave Utah a number one and Glen Rice for an exception that we never used, and probably will let run out.

CD for GM of the year!

    Weeeeee

That trade was surely Les-driven, to avoid paying/losing millions this year for luxury tax reasons. The same reason we didn't match the contract of soon-to-be NBA most improved player James Posey.

How many more picks do we owe?

I think we still owe Atlanta a first rounder for T. Morris.

Off topic: Don't the Magic have a wealth of future first round picks?

Nachbar was a #15 pick and got a whole 77 rookie minutes under Rudy and couldn't crack JVG's rotation. I think the word "veteran" has a significant meaning to both of those philosophically different coaches. Numerically low draft picks are for Lottery teams and teams with bad season records. We've been there and done that..it's time to move on.

Sorry to disappoint all of those who get excited about the draft, but it may be a long while before we get to draft a Francis or Yao Ming again. It's time now for player development, MLE, trade exception and/or roster moves.

Yeah, just look at the contribution our 2nd round pick from LAST year has made this season...

Daniels was out there for the picking as he went undrafted. Unfortunately, CD didn't have 3 first round picks to throw away (again) so he never took a look at this kid. This ties in to my major contention that there will be little or no team improvement with this current organization because CD & Co. are simply too incompetent to locate and evaluate NBA talent.

I believe that you've hit the proverbial nail on the head. All of the personnel moves this season have been due to financial and not basketball reasons. That's a prime reason why the bench has become a resting place for ex-Knick players.

For the record, 27 other teams passed on Daniels and IIRC he got invited to Dallas because of some odd connection from the Mavs to Auburn. Daniels is good but he looks a lot better playing on a veteran team like the Mavs than he would the Hawks or the Wizards.

Ex-Knick Weatherspoon is far more valuable that Moochie was. For that matter, so is MJax.

Jim Jackson versus Posey is a personal decision that could go either way. IMO, Jackson is the better value moneywise and leadershipwise.

I'm surely not going to change your opinion of Rockets' management, but at least strive for some objectivity.

I don't know why more people don't understand this. Playing on a good team will make you look good.

honestly, a second round pick has the potnetial to be of more help than an earlier pick. nowadays everyone looks for the potential Nowitzki foreigner or Bron highschool stud in the ifrst round. hopefully a decent 4 years college player who is a known commodity (read great shooter) will be available in the second round. i personally like Darius Rice or Christian Drejer, 2 legit 3s. Rice at 6'10'' can shoot the 3 or Drejer at 6'9'' can play a point forward (think a poor man's,well bankrupt is probably the right phrase, Lamar Odom).

Not entirely true. They can identify talent if the talent is among the top 3 draft picks.

On the other hand, you can pretty much say "bust" for any Rox picks outside top 3.

JESUS CHRIST! Maybe the team should have gone to Louisville....

Sun12- Can you say Robert Horry, Sam Cassell, Cat Mobley, Kenny Thomas, or Mike Dickerson? You guys need to chill and watch the Stros or something, you act like Steve and CD just gangbanged your moms.

I don't need a lecture on objectivity. What I want to see is some accountability from this organization for a change. Picking up old ex-Knick from the street or from the end of the NY bench is not the way to build a contending team. I'm sure that MJ and Witherspoon are nice to their mothers and kind to strangers but they are marginal (at best) NBA players.

MJ looks good to folks only because their "Franchise" player is a complete moron at his position. Witherspoon looks good because thanks to the diligent efforts of CD and the rest of his crew, we have no viable option at the PF position. Our best PF is a backup center with NO offensive game.

Take a hard look at their track record. They traded KT because they did not want to pay him the money but they can pay Mo Taylor. They let Posey walk to Memphis where he helps them leapfrog the Rockets and post a 50 win season. Their PF of the future for whom they flushed away 3 first round drafts is out of the league. They have nothing to show for last year's draft where they watched another team take their place in the NBA lottery. This year's draft will be another nonevent because thanks again to the genius of the "GM" their only pick is the 55th pick.

At some point, a SUCCESSFUL organization has to have someone who can find and develop young players. That's not the case with this cutrate outfit. In the real world, someone in this organization would pay for this with his job. Instead, in the bizarro world of the Rockets, such incompetence gets you a two year contract extension. For the Rockets accountability is a word they preach but do not follow.

    Look at thes players

I stand corrected! Of course, CD has to have multiple 1st round picks to waste so he can really make a, what's the word I'm looking for here? Oh yeah,

    SPLASH!
