We fall within that 23-26 range. I hate to say it, but it looks like we might be taking Josh McRoberts. I'm not sold on him whatsoever. He has good high post skills(can pass, handle, good court vision for big man), which is very suitable for Rick Adelman. I have seen at least 25 Duke games this year. That kid is as soft as a melted marshmallow. No toughness at all, and whines more than Duncan. He's by far the softest player I have ever seen play basketball. He beats Vince Carter by solar systems. If you ask me we should go with Sean Williams. I don't care what anyone says about his character, WE NEED TALENT AND ATHLETICISM!!!!! Though he's not high in the offensive dept we need someone LONG AND ATHLETIC who could alter shots and take some pressure off Yao. Between him and Chuck Hayes we'll have the best defensive rotation of PF's in the league. I'll also take a look at Gabe Pruitt. Exactly the type of tweener guard we need. He has the skill set and good size and speed to defend either position. As for 2nd round picks I would like us to check Nick Fazekas, Trey Johnson, or Jared Dudley.
Rush is the craziest player in this draft. I have seen him projected as early as the lotto and as late as the 2nd round. I have no clue if we have a shot at the guy. Personally I think he is a notch above Tucker and Almond.
if williams is there on the board, I don't see how we can pass him up. if the powers that be fall in love with a player like byars or almond that falls to the 2nd rd., it certainly wouldn't take very much to trade for the pick. a future 2nd rounder plus cash would probably get that job done.
Marco Belinelli Next Peja especially now under Rick Adelman? I think this might actually happen because Adelman likes foreign players especially those with a great shooting touch. NBA Comparison: Ray Allen Strengths: Despite his age he plays the game with maturity and intelligence, and has a great deal of experience … Ball handling ability is top notch as he can lead the fast break or take opposing guards off the dribble … Belinelli is one of the best shooters off the dribble anywhere in his age group … Even more impressive is that he needs little time to get his shot off thanks to his ultra quick release … Moves extremely well without the ball using an assortment of cuts and fakes to get open … Works very well off of picks and screens where he is superb off the catch and shoot … Possesses legit three point range … Mechanically he does everything well no matter if he is off balance he always keeps his body fully squared … Defensively he possesses great anticipation skills and quick hands which enable him to disrupt passing lanes … Does not get intimidated by pressure situations nor when facing physical defenders … Mid-range shooting has improved as he is starting to fuse this with his long range shooting and slashing ability …. Extremely coachable player who has a solid work ethic … Athletically he shows solid leaping ability and quickness … A great finisher in the open court … http://nbadraft.net/admincp/profiles/marcobelinelli.html
Pete,Can you please tell me more about his strengths and weaknesses? All that I have heard is that he is athletic and a great shotblocker who doesn't have much else to offer.
Glen Davis will be a stud The guys is one of the quickest BIGS to come around in a while, His first step is amazing. If he dropped to around 270 he could be a factor in the league. Nice jumper too... Big Baby and Yao on the frontline...
his profile has already been posted earlier. but the thing that caught my attention was that the guy was averaging 5 blocks a game before he was suspended by the team... the only reason he is falling so far down the board is because he has character issues. personally from a talent standpoint alone you have to take a chance on this kid. furthermore, he is a houston product, so playing close to home would help straighten him out. also, of note is the fact he is being counseled by john lucas sr. who has a reputation for dealing with troubled youths...
You know played at about 250 all last season, right? He's not quick. Talented, high basketball IQ, good shot, but not quick.
He is definitely a risk, mentally, but talent wise he is exactly what the Rockets doctor ordered. If Thadeus Young or Josh McRoberts don't drop down then I would consider him along with Dominic Mcguire. Just say no to Fazekas or Vizzer, they are just duplicates of Novak and Tsakalidas. A good PG would be nice but I don't think Cristendon is better than Vspan and don't see anyone else being available.
He is quicker than you might think. He certainly could take up some space down low and isn't a slouch. My problem is he is trying to stay in shape to make the NBA and is struggling. What happens when he makes a team and isn't as motivated. Can you say Twenty-two Sandwiches.
Please don't. McRoberts is softer than a wet lump of sh** after a 3 day old milkshake. I'm concerned cause he's exactly the type of player for a Rick Adelman system. And while Yao isn't soft, he isn't exactly Sabertooth down low. If all of them are available pull the trigger on Williams immediately. Young is not what we need though he might be worth a look if all other options are gone. In the mock draft I had we ended up taking Gabe Pruitt(my 2nd choice after S. Williams) while I expect the Knicks to go with Williams.
