I'm for getting the BPA but I would like to know if Hill is quick enough to play in the NBA and does he resemble any current 4 in the league. Also is he a long term prospect or can he fit in as a bench player relatively quickly.
Chandler had a solid season this year. He doesn't need the ball to be effective, he can play center or PF, and he loves to hit the glass and block shots. As long as he plays for a coach who can keep his (somewhat fragile) psyche happy and confident, he'll be a very productive player. That was the issue in Chicago, where Skiles would constantly -- and publicly -- berate him for mistakes.
do you think he would fall? if it's looking like it will, he'll probably go back to school, right? Realgm's latest mock has him going after our pick, with us taking Kyle Visser...which would obviously be a horrible pick.
Chad Ford is currently saying that Crittenton has a good shot at maybe sneaking into the lottery. If he stays in the draft, I would be very surprised if he fell down to #26.
i know lior personally his a great guy and a huge potential of basketball he need 1 more year in the euroleauge and then i'm sure he'll be ready for NBA!!
Not good for the Rockets. It looks like Splitter will off the board or headed for the 2nd round. Instead of players falling, they're already moving one spot up the draft. http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?id=2861992&sport=nba&ft=ss
glenn davis anyone? According to NBA draft he is slipping to late 2nd round. Wasn't he considered a top 10 pick in last years draft?
his strengths r - great athelete good assitiant and he having good hand from short range and having a good blocking on def and hes a great dunker!!! just have to be little bit mor aggresive and sharp on his dciding moments!!
Some potential key players that could fall to the Rocketss at the 26th spot. Javaris Crittenton 6-5 PG Daequan Cook 6-5 SG Brandon Rush 6-6 SG/SF Alando Tucker 6-5 SG/SF Sean Williams 6-10 PF Aaron Afflalo 6-6 SG Morris Almond 6-6 SG Jason Smith 7-0 PF My first choice would be Crittenton because of his size and athleticism. Cook has got a lot of potential and he knows how to score. Rush, like Cook, has a lot of potential and he is a decent shooter. Tucker is a very polished player, smart, and played for a good program. Williams is an absolute must for this team because he can block shots and is always around the rim for dunks. Only he is said to be a headcase. Afflalo is solid all-around but isn't as athletic as some of the other 2 guards on the board. Almond is a great shooter, decent size and NBA-ready. Smith has a good mid-range shot and he's tall for a 4.
Would he be available for Summer League or would he have Club/National team duties at that time? With the lack of free agents I'm guessing the Rockets might bring him over to have a look.
Tucker is too small and he has no shooting range. He will not make it in the NBA. Mark it down. Sean Williams would be a nice gamble in the 2nd round with a nonguaranteed contract. He's too risky to waste a first rounder and guaranteed salary on. Crittenton is 19. If Van Gundy is coach, drafting him would be a waste. Afflalo is going to have size issues defending 2s on the next level. He'll get posted up like crazy. Almond is intriguing but I just don't see him being a rotation player for at least a couple years. Rush has huge hands, a great basketball IQ, and a lot of potential left. He could be the yang to McGrady's yin and Yao's Ming. If we don't trade this pick for Rashard Lewis, I sure hope Rush is on the board for us.
A little more info on Herbert Hill - PF - Providence: (6-10, 240) 1st team All-Big East: And the Big East has probably the best big man talent in the NCAA other than Oden Also named Big-East most improved player I can not comment on his quickness, other than he is a good shotblocker and can get a step on defenders when facing-up with the ball. His offensive game is much farther along than his defense. He will need to add more strength, particularly in this legs. He will be somewhat of a project just because his senior year was the only year he got extended playing time. But he is a known hard worker and can pick up on things pretty easy as it has been shown by his good, polished post skills even with little playing time. Draft Express has a good article on him: http://www.draftexpress.com/viewprofile.php?p=584&page=playerblog He has all the physical and mental skills to be a great complement player to Yao and Tracy. How soon though? Well, when you consider that Juwon gives us very little in terms of D or O; with some coaching mainly on the D side of things, Hill should be able to take Juwon's minutes, with giving some shot blocking help. It will be interesting to see how Hill does at the pre-draft camps and workouts.
