How about this guy? http://nbadraft.net/admincp/profiles/seanwilliams.html The knock on him is the off court problem... maybe make a trade of a future 2nd round to try to pick him up?
I think Tucker will slip to us. He can contribute right off the bat. McRoberts could be there. Not a bad late pick. But I never liked him much...
Noah is overrated. I see him being a Tyson Chandler AT BEST. Of course Chandler's 12 rpg is nothing to scoff at but I don't think he's going to be a perennial all-star.
even though I am a bruin i hope the rockets stay away from arron afflalo. having seen all the games he has played in (maybe missed a few over his 3 years) the guy is mentally weak. i can tell the first 4 minutes of a game whether or not he is going to show up or not. the guy can and does for the most part play great defense, but he is easily taken out of his game. brewer (along with some cheap fouls) stopped him in the final 4 game this year (all of arron's points came when the game was decided) he is a bit small to be a 2-guard because he doesnt have the athleticism to compensate. honestly i see him to be at best a devean george type player. i would like to see the rockets try to either draft a "true" backup pg with the pick or get a good backup pf/c
Green was pretty turnover prone from what i saw. I didnt like the way he handled the ball. Wasnt very poised, and it wouldve been a bigger margin in the final if it wasnt for him.
I watched him quite a bit and didn't remember that. The 2.7 TO/game in 33 minutes agrees with me. Conley was the best PG he had faced, also. If Green were 6'2", we'd be hearing a ton about how great a job he did handling the Florida offense. Being 5'11" is his only weakness as PG (who's not the focus).
this draft is very weak in point guards. next year will be LOADED if all the freshman declare. morris almond would be great off the bench to fill in for tmac. we need a true 6th man. luther is nice, but he isnt the answer. derrick byars could be there as well. he can play SG/SF and is a good all around player. doesnt excel in any one area, but he can contribute everywhere. jason smith. juwan is getting older and we could really use some size. smith is a 7 footer and should be able to bulk up more. he has range out to college 3 and is a decent shot blocker. runs the court fine and wont be a liability in the transition game. more of a faceup power forward and needs to develop his post game. not real physical or strong. reminds me of a smaller yao ming when he came into the league. if we dont plan on playing rookies, i say take this guy. he could start when juwan retires or whatever.
with all of the underclassmen declaring in the past couple weeks and the upcoming weeks, Acie Law is gonna drop out of the top 8 into the top 14. Rox need to trade up for him using our 1st rounder and Luther. pick up a PF/C in Free Agency.
The guy got kicked off his college team after being given 3 "second chances". Talk about a headcase. He's like Eddie Griffin minus any offensive skills. Arron Afflalo is decent, but is horribly inconsistent against good competition and has questionable range. A Rockets swingman HAS to be either a great slasher or a good 3 point shooter. The same goes for Alando Tucker, who's a poor shooter and a questionable ball handler. The point guard I like is Bobby Brown from Cal State Fullerton, who mocks have going late first/early second. He's very quick and a great 3 point shooter. I think he's underrated because he plays in a small conference, but he's had good games against UCLA.
We obviously need a PF and a PG and I think we get the PF via free agency. But we also need more athleticism across the board IMO.
Acie Law wow i saw him against the horns and was blow away by the way he took the game into his hands. some how we gotta not let another "brandon roy" slip away from us.
how will he "slip away" from us when he's probably gonna be the #1 PG taken? if he works out well, he's probably in the lottery
No wife beaters!! (J/K) I've never seen this guy play. One point guard who is on no one's radar is Keenan Jones out of Northwestern State. He won't be drafted, but he definitely deserves a camp invite. He really reminds me of Chauncey Billups. He's listed at 6'2", 165#, but he's easily 20 pounds heavier and plays like a big guard. He shot well over 40% from three the past two years, but took really few shots. He was the best defensive guard I saw live all year. (Far better than Acie Law IV.) He averaged 6.3 assists/game, 7th best in the country.
Green got badly outplayed by the pg from UCLA in the semi-finals. Conley outplayed him in the Finals. I have never seen him play other than those two games, but I don't think Green is that good.
