It depends on whether the Griz are competing for something.

The Nuggets hold the tie breaker over the Grizzlies, so if either Denver wins or Memphis loses tonight, Denver clinches the #3 seed. That would also mean the Clippers lock down the #4 seed.

With Memphis guaranteed the #5 seed going into the Jazz game, why would they play their starters?

My guess is it all going to comes down to the Lakers/Rockets game.

Kenneth Faried had an MRI Monday on his left ankle.

No fracture was revealed, but he has a sprain of his anterior talofibular ligament and will miss the last two regular-season games. He'll also presumably be iffy for Round 1 of the playoffs, which would be quite a blow to the Nuggets if he can't play. Anthony Randolph could actually be an effective fantasy play in the final two games after he blew up for 18 points and a full stat line in his last one.

Everything is going according to plan then.

GSW 2-0 and HOU 1-1. 7th seed, beat the Spurs in the first round. I like it.

@SpearsNBAYahoo: Spurs Tony Parker (sore neck), Kawhi Leonard (sore left knee) and Tim Duncan (sore left knee) are out for tonight’s game at Golden State.

Warriors should win this and their final game against the tanking Blazers. If we win tonight in PHX (odds are that we will), we can rest our starters against the Lakers and lose. The result? 7th seed vs SA in round 1.

so people pay for this incorrect information?

the Laketurds would take a three way tiebreaker in this scenario

We won't even have to rest our starters, Stern will ensure that we lose against the Lakers. Just as long as we don't lose against the Suns.

So basically plenty of rest for the playoffs and no one gets fined $250,000.

If Denver goes 1-1 and Clips go 2-0 then the Rockets would play the Clippers in the first round, assuming we hold on to the 6th seed.

I think tonight is the best chance of Denver losing since they are coming off a back to back and Faried might not play either.

Would y'all prefer to play LA or SA. I would definitely love to play LA in the first round.

After the win tonight, we should do the same with our starters. I am sure Lin, Harden, Asik and Parsons could use a few days off.

Wrong, Nuggets holds the tie, also against Grizzlies. Nuggets could lose both and still hold their 3rd place, and one win means no one will there beside them.

if minny wins tonight, rockets win and blazers win, then the Lakers may rest their starters in the final game. If we do want to drop, we may struggle to win that one.

Pretty sure he was talking just about Golden State & Houston there(in the first paragraph), not LA.

LA doesn't have 2 games left.

I hope the final Lakers game is win or go home for them and that we are guaranteed 6th or 7th seed. We would have nothing to lose at that point.

I have never seen the playoff seeding so confusing with only 2 games left... But I think I finally got it figured out.

So let's see if we win out tonight and Wednesday we get the 6th seed and a chance to play Denver in the first round. Unless Denver loses and the Clippers overtake them then we face the Clippers round one. Although there is also a chance that the Grizzlies could overtake both of them and we face the Grizzlies in round one if we keep the 6th seed. But if we do drop to the 7th seed we will face the spurs in the first round. Still there is a slim chance we face OKC if we are in the 7th spot and OKC loses their last 2 games and the Spurs win out.

I am still a little confused if we tie LA... do we own the tie breaker or is that only if there is a 3 way tie with Utah. But since that is now impossible what if we tie LA do we then have the 8th seed and face OKC. And if we do get the 6th seed but the Clippers tie Denver for the 3rd seed do we face the clippers or the nUggets. My thinking is the Nuggets and Spurs are both injured and weakened and I would prefer either one of them over the clippers and OKC and the Grizzlies.

Okay I am lost... can some one explain all of this playoff seeding.
