    - Higher FG % than our current point guards
    - Higher 3-point % than our current point guards
    - More assists per minute than our current point guards
    - More steals per minute than our current point guards
    - Much better assist/turnover ratio than our current point guards

All that sounds pretty good to me for a backup point guard.

No reason to cut Alton Ford. I would have rather had him than Spoon and/or Padgett.

They don't want him at $6,000,000.00 a year. We would hope to sign him for considerably less.

    Why they cut Ford?

This move puzzles me, do they have something else in the works?

They only have 4, maybe 5, big men?

They did not need to cut Ford in order to sign Ward.

If they can even get Ward.

Maybe there is a trade coming or a signing of someone who has recently been cut?

One of the few things we've agreed upon. But an important one! ;)

I guess Ward and Eisley have some value as back-up point guards, but I'd much rather see the Rockets eventually go after a true starting point guard. Ward and Eisley have done a pretty poor point guard by committee job in New York the last couple of years and I would hope the Rockets would know better than to look at any acquisition of Charlie Ward as an opportunity to move Francis to the shooting guard (something I think needs to happen, but Ward is not the answer).
