first and foremost, they both suck. it wouldn't have mattered who we would have kept, they would have ridden the pine the whole year anyways.

but i do trust morey, and i think wafer was the right choice here. we need someone to hit those shots, and wafer can do that... at least in the pre-season.

but it still doesn't change the fact that they are and will be on IR

I'm not saying the only reason i like him is because one game that he nailed a 7 3's. I think the kid is fearless in many ways. Good decision coach! :D

I love the passion for the 14th or 15th guy on the depth chart/potential trade bait. :D

This team is so much deeper than it's been in over a decade. I have to say that GM Morey is largely responsible for this progress. We also finally shook free from years of bad contracts that were hanging over our head (Cato, Taylor, etc...) but Morey deserves credit for not putting us back in that hole while apparently making a number of shrewd trades and draft day decisions.

Mate I'm just looking for you to change your signature.

Take the bet, roll with it.

See the "TRADE Singletary for Strawberry" thread for the details of your new signature.

Here: I've made it easy for you.

Ok - so far as I can gather, the losers in the sig bet stakes are the following:

    W22_STREAK
    Alvin Choo
    Lima Time

I don't want to be too harsh on you guys - you obviously got caught up in the excitement of making a trade!

    I'll give you 3 options:

    (i) "Careful of my opinion because I get wildly excited about largely irrelevant players"
(I think W22_STREAK should have that one!)

(ii) "When I talk about team needs, what I mean is I like this player more than that one"

(iii) "note to self: never bet on Strawberry..."

Makes sense, a great shooter will fit in better with T-mac and Yao then just another average shooting penetrator. We already have Rafer and Brooks....and with Yao, Artest, Scola, T-mac, having another 3-pt shooter to spread things out makes sense.

We were the 25th best three point shooting team in the league last year. Our weakness wasn't defense and strawberry is not going to stop williams by himself. We have added barry and artest, but you can never have too many shooters when you were at the bottom in terms of three point shooting last year.

This is a Rick Adelman coached team. Everyone has a shot to earn more playing time. Just like landry was at the bottom of the rotation last year. He will get his opportunity in due time. Welcome aboard wafer...

I disagree with KALIKUA. We have enough three point shooters. We did not need another dude to come off the bench and jack up shots like there is no tomorrow. JVG would not have approved of this decision because he's smart like me and he knows defense wins championships.

    (i) JVG never won a championship (but he's right)

(ii) we were 2nd best defensive team last year, but needed extra offense.

(iii) Alston is a better defender than DJ

High quality post! I hope you post more.

It seems you know Wafer personally. Wafer doesnt look like 220 to me.

Hmmm, last time i check, you are saying Mike Harris is the one that will be in the roster. And what do you know, his the first to be cut other than that Campbell dude. Heck his never in the considerations since that artest trade.

So i give you 3 options:
    1) shut your mouth
    2) keep it close
    3) try to think before you post

Did you really mean to say that Wafer will be an awesome point guard? I want to make sure that wasn't a typo before I discredit your analysis.

Any chance of DJ signing a 10 day contract since Battier's status for the start of the season and immediate future is iffy? Plus Tmac is still hobbling around, Francis' health/availability status is unknown. That's 3 backourt/wing spots possibly not available when the season starts. And I'd rather Battier and Tmac take their time coming back and not risk tweaking something.

Erm - wrong about the bet entirely.

The bet was "Strawberry doesn't make the squad" - sig bet on it.
    You took it.

Now man up and pay the consequence.

IF you wanted to make me a sig bet that Mike Harris would make the squad, then you might have some reason to complain. But until you do Alvin Choo, why don't you do what you bet? Take option 2 or 3 and don't make stupid statements in the future.
