Well there must be a reason Von Wafer has bounced around so many teams right after 3 years with no rotation spot in sight.

While Defense will always keep a player in the league. See Ivey, Royal.

DJ is who we needed. Not Wafer. Its that simple. DJ can play defense really well while Wafer plays no defense.

I'm quite sure a lot of experts wants DJ over Von.

I'm sure we'd all love to have a player like this one:

stop mentioning Von's past where he bounced between NBA teams. Who knows he worked really really hard to step up his game and become a better player to earn a spot in our team.

I believe with hard work and dedication, u can achieve what u want. Dont judge people by its past. Besides I still trust on Morey on his decisions. If Von's 7 3's is only a fluke and he keep missing his shots at training, Rox will cut him without a doubt

It really doesn`t matter that much, whoever got the spot will take the last seat on the bench. I doubt we will see him on the floor in any meaningful situation. And when he gets on the court it will just be to hit his open shots.

Strawberry is better defensively, Wafer is the better shooter. What do we need? I guess Morey knows best. Perhaps he is also keeping the player which he can better package in a trade...

DJ will be picked up by another team, he wont just be "sitting" out there waiting for us to sign him. I like Wafer though it was a tough decision, although still would like luther out

Im surprise all you Battier lovers are not upset about this one. D.J. Strawberry brought the INTANGIBLES on D, while Wafer just looks out for his shot, doesn't play D. Sure Wafer will just be used for the long bomb but I wouldn't be able to stand watching him and Tmac on the court together!! I can just picture both of them WALKING towards halfcourt on defense while Scola and Landry hustle. I would have definately kept Strawberry for his quickness easy points.

Are you serious????????? We NEED DJ to defend Deron and CP????? If you think he can stop them, you have to be a DJ relative.

Well there must be a reason Strawberry was drafted 59th overall in 2007. While defense will keep a player in the league, good shooters will always find a place in the league too.

Regardless who is better between the two, both will most likely end up being our bench warmers. If you lost trust in Morey because he chose to keep one scrub over another, then you're either out of your mind, or like BMW said, you always had doubts and never really trusted Morey.

Alston-brooks-Francis-Head-Strawberry. see it was to crowded at the PG rotation. heck even barry can be thrown in there as a pinch hitter.not only that, wafer was a compliment to yao and mcgrady. in particular mcgrady who commands double teams left and right.

    LOL, my dear God.

Do you know why DJ was cut and Wafer stays? DJ's contract would become fully guaranteed after Oct 29, very simple. The tough decision is cuting Harris or Wafer, cutting DJ was no brainer giving Rockets' current salary situation.

The same reason why the Rockets can't cut Head, they have to trade him if they don't want him.

It's also the same reason why the Rockets can't sign Deke at the begining of the season and have to wait till mid-season.

There is a huge difference between a real GM and an armchair GM.

Because we're used to seeing half our top 9 in crutches and in street clothes as much as basketball uniforms.

I favored Strawberry over Wafer. But this W22_STREAK CAN'T be serious not trusting the GM for this. Strawberry at most would have kept the 2nd team steady, he would NOT have been a difference maker.

As good defender as DJ is, I dont believe DJ can stop both CP3 and Deron. he would be the NBA defensive team if he can do that.

out of Harris, Wafer, and DJ, Wafer was the best offensive weapon. plus he's a legit 2. remember that Billups bounced around from team to team before landing in detroit. if i had to choose one of the 3, based on this years training camp, it would have to be wafer. not only for the game against memphis, but his overall game. he can shoot, has size, he's athletic and has a mid-range game.

No. He'd be the DPOY if he could do that. CP3 and DWill are considered two of the league's best PGs for a reason. You picked up a random player (albeit a good defensive PG) through a minor trade and you expect him to stop those two??? Be real.
