Um hes going to be out of the league lol This is one of if not the worst team in the nba and he couldnt make the squad
Sorry, PGs who can't hit free throws are worthless. I'll make exceptions for guys who can run a team (prime Rajon Rondo), but that will never be Nix. All season long, he kept Daishen our hopes.
So happy he is off the team. Let’s see what TyTy can do as our backup now seeing as Silas pissed away an entire season where we could have learned more.
Other posters have said this, but he was the classic AAAA player. Too good for the G-League, not good enough for the NBA. Wish him well!
It’s the internet. What do you expect. And if someone sucks typically the fans will call out that they suck. I mean look at how many people are calling westbroook “westbrick” including previous nba players. I think that’s a whole lot more disrespectful given the hall of fame level he’s played at. Outside of rockets fans no one else even gives a sh*t about nix. I will however have to add that he didn’t help him self being a professional athlete but being out of shape at such a young age. Not a good look. You had one job dude lol. Same goes for Zion Williamson and his weight.
I don't care about this kind of stuff, people are who they are whether on the internet or IRL. This is just punching down for some likes. If someone doesn't like Nix, take it up with Stone and Silas. When a person tries their best and it doesn't work out, you shake their hand respectfully and go your separate ways. It's just a really cheap attempt to sound brave or funny. There's nothing so sacred that we shouldn't make fun of it, but some comedy is for cheap laughs and some comedy has artistry and mastery in it.
How are you so certain that “he tried his best”? We don’t know that. Actually, I could argue that if he did in fact “try his best” he would have been in better shape, and not out of shape for a young professional athlete. So I personally don’t think he tried his best … But yea people are not taking this all that serious man. Maybe only his family and huge fans are. To everyone else this is just a small blip on their “overwhelming amount of info coming at them every single hour” radar. Like I said if a hall of famer like Westbrook is not immune to being clowned mercilessly online (and even on TV), then certainly someone like nix wouldn’t be. Your expectations seem too high lol. Hell, those folks in that submersible imploded to their death last week and 80% of comments online were clowning and joking. Distasteful, but it kinda is what it is.
We hired him when he was overweight and couldn't make FT's. We couldn't improve him, just like we barely improved any other young person on the roster. On the court, he tried his best and that's not true of the whole roster. I know that because I watched the games. What's so trash about that? Should he have said no to the opportunity? You're free to call him trash even though he tried, are we not free to call that behavior trash too? Yeah, it's important to me to speak up about people who punch down. It's ok if that's not very important to you. We don't have to all meet the same expectations, we're all different and sharing our thoughts. It's totally untrue that this doesn't affect people. You're not being serious if you think getting waived won't affect him. These are young people with very little training and experience. People who gain fame or money are incessantly talking about how difficult it is to have that much criticism from random people and how they have to disconnect from social tools to maintain their mental health. I'm sure you've seen this millions of times. It's not our responsibility, but it's flat out not true that it's not a big deal to those people. It's a punch in the face they take in exchange for the money, but it's still a punch in the face. Only poor people think money fixes that sh*t, then they eventually get money and fall into the same cycle or they never get money at all. Sad little things humans do.
We will have to “agree to disagree” on “trying his best”. As that to me doesn’t only mean on the court during game hours but also outside of game time hours. You’re agreeing that he was overweight. That is on him to control. You’re a pro player, playing basketball, not football, and playing a guard position. There is zero excuse for being overweight. That is not “trying your best to be in the best game shape”. So that’s all on him there. You can say “he played hard when he got a chance”, that would be more accurate lol. If you’re a guard in the NBA and can’t get in shape and you’re overweight there are some issues there with discipline. Big time. Also, I didn’t say it’s not a big deal to him. I said it’s not a big deal to people who are making those comments (unless it’s their family or him or close friends). Most other folks have such an overwhelming amount of stuff coming at them 24/7 that this was just like a 10 second blip in their day when they make a comment about a player and don’t give it a second thought after it. No one is immune to criticism especially these public figures. People sh*t on Lebron, KD, Curry, everyone lol. So little ol Nix can’t expect to be spared from it that’s all. I appreciate you focusing on the positives, for sure. All I’m saying is it’s unrealistic to expect every day fans to not make comments about players on forum boards.
so each one of the players clutchfans were saying are trash got onto another team. interesting.. interesting to see how al these players play without the silas tax.
