RR, I give you credit where its due because I can tell you know your basketball, youre a great fan and your posts are well typed.
However, I cant believe that you honestly can say that the Rockets have a better shot to win a title THIS YEAR than the Spurs, then I applaud you for your standing by your convictions. In reality, probably no one has a shot to beat a healthy LA team. And if SA has no shot at beating them, then we have even less of one. I think our best bet to advance is against the Mavs or Kings. I think SA and LA would be tough because we have no proven inside defense. At least with Sac. and Dallas, their main offensive firepower isnt inside.

I agree in that if we were in the East, we would have a much better shot at a top seed.

Re read my reply post. Oh my god, I think we agree... again? ;)

The question was who had a better shot. My first reaction of course is neither. But since he asked..

I'd be happy with 1) playoffs 2) at least a good showing in round one 3) second round 4) a good showing in the second round.

Anything more would be FANtastic :D

I think we agree again. Its like that second Bush and Gore debate eh?

Thats all I was trying to say. Id be happy making the playoffs and being competitive. I am just getting the impression from you that if the Rockets arent as good, or better than the Spurs, that you would consider the season a failure. =)

It would be disappointing. Though I will say they need some time to gel against the stronger teams. But right away they should only lose to the best competition. They must win against the lesser teams right away.

Mark my words. If Yao get to play against Robinson during that game. Thumb up for Yao. Yao might have some problems with some bangers in this league, but not Robinson. He is just too soft. Yao is as agile as Robinson. With his height advantage and much better shooting touch, thumb down on Robinson. Mark my words.
