Like I said, NONE of it will matter if they meet in the playoffs. The past is the past. The only thing that will count is each game in the series. No other coach has won 9 championships besides PJ. Does that mean we should just crown the Lakers? Should D'Antoni (who almost blew last year's series) and Avery Johnson just concede if they meet the Lakers in the playoffs? Take a defeatist attitude if you like; that's your privilege. But there is a reason the games are actually played. Don't be surprised if another coach besides PJ, Pop or Riley wins it all this season.

One more thing. I can't believe ESPN doesn't pick up this game to broadcast nationally.

Kobe vs T-Mac. Two best swing men in the league go head to head. It will be far more exciting than the match up between Spurs and Dever "No D" Nuggets.

    I can't wait.

What about the fact that we're battling them for playoff position and they are just 2 games ahead in the loss column? If the Lakers sweep us, we're pretty certain to be seeded lower and draw a tougher first round opponent.

That, plus they beat us twice already, I hate Kobe, I hate LA, I hate the Lakers, and I hate everyone who coaches, plays or roots for the Lakers. I really, really don't want to lose to the Lakers again.

But, it'll be a tough game. Lakers are playing great right now and just knocked off Dallas the other night. I keep waiting for them to lose, but they keep pulling out wins. If we lose to them, I might cry. :(

Seriously, it's on ESPN NBA Wednesday too.

Would probably get twice as many viewers as the gay Nuggets v Spurs. No one wants to watch that.

The Grizzlies are doing some good things for us now. They scored 46 points in the 3rd qtr ( ) and took a 19pts lead into 4th qtr. I wish the Lakers strike back but lost at end of the game.

Man, I am watching the Grizzlies and Lakers. The Grizzlies can score some serious points. They are playing like the Phoenix Suns. They are averaging 117 PPG. They will score 125+ tonight

Crap, none of the Lakers played over 30 minutes tonight. What a bunch of losers! They should fight for the win till the very last second. :p

    - I guess they are saving their gas for tomorrow game against us.

Not good for us, they rested their players probably so they could take us tomorrow night.

None of their starters played more than 30 minutes, with an average of 25-27 minutes each.

Again? I thought Shane did a fine job on Kobe last time, although I'm aware that Kobe scored a load. A lot of those points came when Shane was not on assignment. In particular Shane does a great job of getting a hand in the face (literally the face) of Kobe when shooting jumpers. He at least seemed frustrated when Shane was guarding him.

And don't forget, that was a double overtime game, so it's almost par for the course that Kobe hit 50 with the number of shots he attempted (what was it, 38?)
