Watching the Warriors play is like watching an inspiring Bball movie. I've never seen so much passion and hustle. They play their hearts out every single minute. They play every game as if they were facing elimination down by 2 and there's a few seconds on the clock. Oh yeah, and their games are fun to watch. Maybe the Rox would get motivated watching some Warrior game tapes.
remember when Tmac in orlando was playing baron davis in charolette. Baron Davis was monster in that series and had back to back triple doubles. Mcgrady said he think he is the better player in the series and ended up losing the series in I forgot in how many games. Baron Davis is a classy guy filled with heart. And look at them now diffrent series same SH*&. Baron has had numerous operations on his knee and sometimes get there 2-3 hrs before game time to get treatment on his knees. He drives to the basket like he was still a rookie from UCLA. He doesnt avoid the contact he relishes it.Tmac needs to take a page from Davis and inspire his team like he does with the warriors. Lets hope he realizes this before the series is over. PS. This is Houston best opportunity to get the finals or at least the second round. Dallas is about to be eliminated and I like their chances against the warriors.
Dallas is far from eliminated. Don't count them out yet. PS. I hate the Mavericks and hope they rot in the lottery next year. Same with the Jazz.
Or maybe they should show T-mac's 13 points in 33 seconds. That always inspires me. That really showed the determination the Rockets need to re-acquire.
If Tracy McGrady wanted to look at Baron Davis to improve his game, he could have done it back when he was in Orlando. Tmac talked all series long about how he was the best player while Baron Davis kept his mouth shut and outplayed him on the court. Tmac lost that series to Davis. What makes you think Tmac is ready to look at Baron Davis now? Tmac needs to do some soul searchin'. He only needs to look at himself.
Sorry to be a thread basher, but comparing us to Golden State is wrong and unfair. We don't exactly have 4-5 all-star caliber players on our team like they do. We have a grand total of two. Not to mention that they're beating Dallas specifically because of matchups, not this "heart" BS. Spurs and Rockets would beat the Warriors because of the same reason why the Warriors are beating the Mavs... MATCHUPS. Don't look at anything further than that. As for this series, Jazz and Rockets are evenly matched for the most part. Their strengths against our strengths (and weaknesses) are fighting to a stand-still. The fact that Utah has more scoring depth is starting to show.
it's not just baron davis. it's that whole team. you can see they want to win so badly. i love it personally. i just wish our rockets played like that. it's sad.
J-rich and Baron are the only All-star caliber players. Al harrington and Stephen Jackson aren't exactly quite there yet. They are definitely good players though. Match up problems work both ways, each team has their comparative advantage. Its only a matter of who makes better use of that advantage that wins. If you say that the Warriors are quicker and more athletic because they play small ball, then The Mavs on the flip side are bigger, and should be able to pound the ball inside and punish the Warriors. Unfortunately, the Mav's big men all play small ball, which results in such a disparity. But you have to tip your hat off to the Warriors for playing their heart out and being able to impose their run and gun style onto the Mavs. Unfortunately, the Rockets are the same way. We have a comparative advantage over the Jazz with our two super stars, while they have a bunch of good to mediocre players that make up for their lack of super star talent level. We can win if our two best players play like the super stars that they are suppose to be, but they're not, which is why we lost the past two games. On the other hand, Utah is out hustling us to all the loose balls, second chance points, and killing us with their movement in offense. At such high level of basketball, the difference is not matchups, its about effort and intensity. Its about who has the stronger will to win. I wouldn't be so pissed off about our performance, if we played with heart and intensity and still lost. Sometimes, you are just outmatched, but this is far from the truth with the Jazz. We're just not playing with that same intensity like we did when we beat the suns - we match up even worse with them. If we played like that every game, I would have no regret even if we get swept the first round.
i think its pretty silly to pretend that tmac is a superstar anymore, and kinda ironic that van gundy is coaching him. its like allen houston in nyc, he is washed up, and yet the coach loves him. all tmac does is shoot 3s and ill advised fadeaways of bad screens. he is too scared to really drive to the basket, but on the off night that he does, he passes out to the 3pt line instead of taking the contact, or getting an easy layup. golden state has really good athletic players and that makes up for ALOT, but mainly, they got heart. they want it bad, and will do anything to get the win. like drexler said late in game 4, Someone needs to starts throwing some elbows, fight back, get PHYSICAL to prove to utah that they wont be pushed around. so, who was gonna do that? yao? tracy? no way, our team is soft. no fire, and no heart. if houston is going to go anywhere, they need to get rid of tmac and get a scoring pf and at least one guy that can really drive to the basket and make his own shot. baron davis is a smarter steve francis. plain and simple.
LOL, it is so true. Remember, the warriors are not even running on all cylinders--Al Harrinton and Monta Ellis are performing very poorly.
That's understating Davis's ability. Davis is also a much better shooter and playmaker than Francis, not to mention, Davis is built like a truck and can literally run through people.
Amen! Their hustle and enthusiasm is infectious! It also doesn't hurt that they are the 8th seed going against the 1st seed -- oh, and that the other team is Dallas.
Don't understand why everyone thinks this is just T-Mac's fault. Granted, T-Mac should be driving to the hole and dictating the flow, but last time I checked, if we had ANYONE from the bench actually show up, this would be a much different series. Is it T-Mac's fault that Rafer, Head, Howard, Hays, Mutumbo, the ball boy, etc. have decided to start their vacation early? Everyone is missing some wide-open looks and blowing layups. No one is showing the hustle that they should have right now. Hopefully tonight they'll start to turn it around and play the way we all want to see them play. It's funny, I've been rooting so hard for the Warriors, and they've done so much better than I thought, they might actually win over Dallas and do it TOO early. now I need to hope that Dallas can win at least 1 more so that we have a chance (if we can) to catch up. Oh sweet irony.
Cool. Let rockets grow some macho too. Watching Golden state kick mavs ass is shock and awe. And watch smashing cake on Chuck's face is worthless.
Rafer's been raped in this series by DWill. If we make it into the 2nd round he'll continue to get raped - either by JTerry/DHarris or Baron Davis. We have no answer for the other team's backcourt.
