Pretty bold talk about a not even green rookie, sure hope you are right. Can't wait for the exhibition season to see the kid in action, I had no expectations for a #24 but if this kid is as good as you say then JVG should start him, rookie or not and forget about hurting his vets feelings.

It's not out of the question that Head can be a contributor this year. But, I think that surreal expectations are remenisant of the expectations we put on Langhi, Terrance Morris, Nachbar, Griffin, etc.

Remember how everyone said that Langhi would be our SF of the future until he wasn't. Don't forget Terrance Morris who was tabbed as the number 1 pick until he ended up going in the 2nd round. And then there is Nachbar who was supposed to be the next Pedja. Plus Griffin was going to be better than Kevin Garnett. And should we even bring up Roddrick Rhodes?

I'm just saying that the high expectations of these players is fun, but unrealistic. The only guys that have done very well for the Rockets were Cassel, Horry, Thomas, and Mobley.

    Good Luck Head :D

    Nice, Zac. :)

Plus there is the fact that JVG just doesn't pay rookies. He's from the Pat Riley school of coaching and rookies get very little time unless they are big time.

The bit you quoted in your post was not AI, it was Ron Artest from about a day ago.

Head's a Mobley type though. He's been tested against ggreat college competition and performed a very high level. He's also a great leaper , defender (at least in college) and shooter. these are things that can't be taught. Nobody can promise success but he seems like he will be able to make the transition from sg to pg. He's not going to be a magician with the ball but let's not foget that Sura played point guard last season. Head handles the ball much better then he does.

I thought Badiane was only a Malicker not a full fledged throater. He must be stepping up his game.

It's ironic that a guy named Head isn't a throater.

Thats a good point. You can never go wrong with good Head (especially when it comes late).

It seems that there are doubters around here. Some people seem to think you don't know good Head when you see him...

wesley's got the record for playing the most minutes in a game. that's how much jvg trusts him.

Wow, you mean to say that not only is JVG stingy with playing time, he's stingy with the dollars as well. I guess that's one way to figure out whether a player really loves the game or just wants the Benjamins.

    ;)

Wesley is more valuable to us than Sura because he can shoot. We have playmakers on this team who can get their own shot and if they get in trouble or double teamed if we don't have someone on the perimeter who can shoot then we are in trouble. Thats basketball 101. Wesley is very important to this team, I think those of you who don't think so are very wrong. He isn't going anywhere.

How quickly we forget all those clutch free throws he hit during the regular season. I think we can blame his dissappearance in the playoffs on being old. But not choking.
