Preseason games ARE NOT INCLUDED as part of the NBA League Pass. Preseason game are shown by each teams local affiliates and not all games are braodcast on satellite. The preseason games that are broadcast can be seen if you have the "Sports Package", which is all the Fox channels. Example, the Celtics televise ALL preseason games and all are shown on Fox East. The Knicks show quite a few of their preseason games on MSG. The Nets are on FoxNY. The Bulls on FoxC (Chicago)...etc. These games are not shown on NBA League Pass, unless they have a free preview.

Last season I remember picking up some Rockets preseason games on DirecTv channel 644 which is not even listed in the DirecTv guide. It is the channel next to FoxSW.

Umm...League Pass carried select preseason games last year on digital cable. I watched 3 Rockets games (Dallas, Portland (Corvallis), and Detroit).

Those were FREE Previews. They apparently are not doing that this year.

Bob, you're right. A new deal must have been made with the networks
    (no deal).

I've had NBA League Pass for the last 3 years and they always showed ALL
the pre-season games (for free). They were free because the NBA was using
the NBATV and the pre-season games as ADVERTISEMENTS to ramp up
the upcoming season. Also, I know they were free since every time
they showed the pre-season games, I hadn't yet purchased the NBA
    package yet.

Now, they are showing only a few pre-season (four) games; on TNT (Oct 24)
and ESPN, (Oct 25) not NBA League Pass.

Well, does that mean ZRB and DCKid are wrong then? They say they are getting preseason games on the 15th?

DCkid was right. I just ordered NBA League Pass today and the
banner channels popped in, and they have 3 games scheduled for
broadcast tomorrow! None of them Rocket games.

Someone tell me if your banner channels show games for tomorrow:

    New Orleans vs Orlando (NBA1)
    Boston vs New Jersey (NBA2)
    Dallas vs Detriot (NBA3)

I guess you have to pay to get the pre-season games, or it was
just a coincidence that I ordered on Oct 14th.

I just got confirmation from Time Warner Cable in NYC that the preseason games will be shown beginning tomorrow the 15th.

By the way, are you sure the preseason games were free previews last year, or was that just assumed? I thought I remember the trial period was during the first week of the season just like this year. It doesn't seem like the 1 or 2 games they show each day during the preseason would provide a very good preview of the service, but I may be wrong.

Like I said, I was positive they were showing preseason games. I even posted two emails from indemand.com that said as much. Plus I just looked ahead in my digital cable menu and saw that games were scheduled starting on the 15. If there are games being shown on the service, and Time Warner isn't just activating the channels for the people who paid for the service to view them, to me that is a rip-off. It sounds like they're just clueless and they need to have someone inform them just how clueless they are by sending them a link to a 2002-2003 preseason schedule. Indemand.com is pathetic, they still haven't even posted the full preseason schedule yet.

Oh, and I'm able to look ahead to the 21st now, and the Rockets game on the 20th is not scheduled to be shown either. So all four of the next Rockets preseason games will not be shown. However, it looks like they're showing every Celtics game for some reason. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the last two Rockets' preseason games will be shown, but I'm not counting on it.

Boo! What a bunch of crap! I understand why they might want to show the teams that garner the most interest, but Boston 5 times!? That's pretty much their entire preseason.
