It's interesting how different sides view the whole coach misusing thing. The Lin fan group sees it as holding him back and forcing him to do what he isn't best at. I on the other hand see it as the coach successfully making Jeremy improve on what was once a weakness in his outside shooting. I truly believe the way Lin was used this season will go a long way in making him a more complete and dangerous player in the future. Early in the season I literally cringed when Lin put up an outside shot and now I'm more than happy when an offensive possession results in a Lin 3 point shot attempt.
Hindsight is always 20/20. During the process of the "improvement", Jeremy, his family, his fans, his shooting coach, and the dog he didn't have, were all cursed/bashed by "fans". Feel bad that D-Mo has to go through this now. Growing pain I guess. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
DMO needs to add some weight. He can't hold his position in the post right now unless it's a quick move.
LOL. A bit dramatic? His family, friends and dog he didn't have? Come on the only "hate" was for the fans that already had him as a top flight PG at the start of the season. Not saying everyone had him there but there were definitely some and still some now who love to overrate their favorite player.
I agree, the development of Lin's game this season has been pretty cool to watch. I give credit to the coach, team, and Jeremy for doing all this while keeping a winning season. He's developing into a combo guard which will make him more dimensional than just a pure PG and will fit real nice next to James. It will be interesting to see how they both develop their game together this summer since they really didn't have the chance to do this and have had to do it on the fly. People have argued that they've had all year but a summer makes a big difference.

Maybe they "misused" him for a reason. we ALL know that this era of basketball is defined as championship or busts. The houston rockets were not going to win a championship this year with the stalwart heats lead by King James defending the crown. I see this year, even during the offseason, as a developmental phase. You see Jeremy Practicing his jumpers in games and is constantly improving. Parson developed into a 3 point threat. Harden honed his skills. Asik added some offensive game to his menacing defense. Maybe thats what the coaches and DM had in mind. Develop this year, win when it counts. Also seeing as how DM it a bit fond of statistics and probabilities, this is how he would probably approach this situation.
