My OPINION wasn't that Anderson is a bad player. He's good. My issue is that (1) Rivers sucks (have you seen his stats) and draws a lottery pick salary so is a negative in the trade, and (2) Anderson still isn't worth Asik straight up. Then if you take on Rivers, and throw in DMO or Jones who are probably worth middle 1st rounders, makes the trade not make sense. A trade around Asik only for Anderson plus NO assets might work, but I'd prefer to keep Asik as the backup center and sometime starting center (if Dwight plays PF) or using him to have a shot at Love or Aldridge. I agree that we are weak at the PF and backup SG positions, but a lineup of Beverly-Lin works in many instances, and it's no reason to sell Asik for 50 cents on the dollar. Parsons can also play 4 (and has), and TJones and DMO might still develop. I'd love a good shooting rebounding PF too, but frankly I'd rather have 48 minutes of elite center defense and roll with what we have and see if it works first.

Would love Ryan Anderson on this team. Is there a better fit at power forward for us considering the value Asik has? I really don't think so. Dude would fit in perfectly, and already has played with Howard. It would just be perfect IMO.

Things to think about. Cant trade him within our division. most likely have to look to the East coast teams...But there really isnt much value and even the New Orleans deal is a stretch. The Rockets may not get equal value back in return for this investment with Asik. I think the Rockets just keep Asik and let him pout it out...

when I first heard asik maybe on trade block rumors I was just like you saying well if they want to win in playoffs might as well keep him to have a defensive center in the game the full 48 min. Also he would be great with playing teams like grizzlies, pacers, spurs. Then I had time to think well what if we just don’t get anything out of our currents PFs when we could have ryan anderson in the game most of the time knocking down threes more than a player like delfino and also who can play better defense and has post moves . I would let him walk and depend on jones or smith to match up with howard if we have to play those big teams. Yes the defense won’t be the same but will be close. Cant foregt smith held his own against howard and lakers at the Toyota center and even had KG recognizing his skills in interviews after we beat Boston at home. Also jones can block shots better than asik numbers show vs there playing time mins. So we wouldn’t lose to much defense with asik gone. DMO thats a different story.
Camp is right around the corner and morey and mchale will get to test things out preseason since luckily we get to play west and hibert twice, and also get to play the spurs. So they will know if its worth keeping asik around before the real season starts

I would be happy if we could trade Omer,he is a legit starting 5 in this leauge with a lot of room to grow and Ryan Anderson would be a great fit,so why don't they do it already?

There's no way division rivals will trade with each other. I'd rather keep Asik and trade him as a package for a decent PF.

Rivers is a long-term project and not really suitable for the current Rockets. The guy has nice handle though.

If Asik can net us a solid 4 then do the deal. We are better off with a good 4 than an underutilized backup center.

Because it would be the Rockets making a terrible trade and usually Morey doesn't like taking the weak end of a trade.

think about it like this Howard not healthy in season or playoffs we have ASIK to start same team as last year what happens ?????

howard not healthy, we still have anderson so we are still a better team with a upgrade at least at one position to strech the floor.

    Fixed.

Asik isn't long for this team; we should all know that.

Morey won't let him walk for nothing in two years, and needs to trade him this year so that his next team won't just be stuck with paying him one year at the balloon payment value of $15 million.

But Morey will hold out for a good deal, Lucille.

If Howard isn't healthy, going back to Asik isn't the worst thing in the world, having to rely on Anderson would lead to the team being worse than they were last year. I think someone would have to come up with a MUCH better trade package to make Morey even consider trading Asik.

Agree. We all know Asik will go eventually, but I would be completely effing floored if it isn't a better deal than something of this caliber.

    In Morey I Trust.

What is Asik's value worth to y'all?

Anderson and 7'0 Jason Smith wouldn't be a bad haul.

    Jrue Holiday
    Eric Gordon
    Tyreke Evans
    Anthony Davis
    Omer Asik

That is the most talented starting line up in the west.

Asik to Pelicans will never happen.

We've know that we're going to be trading Asik right when Dwight committed to the Rockets, it's always been a matter of when.
