I use Twitter and I’ve came across all of these guys accounts at one point or another…I choose not to engage in thorough Rockets talk on Twitter for a variety of reasons:

    1) a lot of those guys either seem young or that their opinion of Rockets basketball is greater than anyone else’s.

    2) Most of those guys never saw Kelvin Cato, Eddie Griffin, Othella Harrington, or Kevin Willis play basketball.

    3) Clutchfans > Rockets Twitter by an infinite amount. Sure, there may be some weird takes and posters in here from time to time. But when big news breaks revolving the rockets, looking for juicy rumors (what’s up @cyberx), general NBA news, or I’m looking for in game/post game dialogue amongst fans- I’m coming to Clutchfans 10/10 times.

By the way, I can’t say that I’m shocked by what came out about the guy.

Non-contextual threads that only the OP understands are my favorite.

Kind of ironic in that the Twitter accounts in question seem determined to stir up drama on a daily basis. That little posse is like a bunch of 7th-grade girls. And now they're having to deal with actual drama as a result of their nonsense.

A rockets “fan” listing the Lakers and Mavericks as teams he’d want to win a championship? Not only is it gross…. It’s Rockets fandom malpractice

So, I don't understand. I would want my news from someone that has team sources or press access to the Rockets players, coaches, facilities, etc., not random people on twitter.

Why do these random ass people have a following? Lol.

I’m guessing some of them probably started out as good aggregators of Rockets news or Rockets talk from national media, but then they started giving out actual opinions and people gassed them up to the point they got podcasts and are creating Twitter spaces…so they think they control the narrative for the fanbase as a whole and are the official representation of the fanbase

I think it has a lot to do with the modern fan's desire for on demand content. If the rockets made a VOD service where people could watch old games and hear from on air personalities, people would not only watch it they would pay money for it.

Likely a Harden, Beverley and former Parsons stan.

The demographic is very young but also has a really weird vibe to it. Almost reminds me of high school. Very cliquish, lots of “drama”, lots of “you can’t sit with us” kind of behavior. But they’re all grown men in their 20s so it’s very bizarre. I am on twitter a lot and I love it for other reasons, but not for rockets twitter. Rockets twitter just sucks. Some of these guys got 10k followers from tweeting milquetoast garbage like “Jabari Smith is going to have a big year for the #rockets this year! RT if you agree!” People who post that **** should have 0 followers.

Someone else pointed this out too but I really really hate that Ryan Hollins has given them an audience and has mentioned them on air. I don’t blame him for it, I get what he’s trying to do and in theory there’s nothing wrong with it, but with these guys specifically I just don’t like it.

Why go on Twitter for rocket news? I just use bleacherreport or clutchfans.

Only time I use Twitter grab pics/videos from rando folks. Feel like it used to b easier to post random pics and stuff on here.
