Tim- if you are reading this, please listen to these diehard Rocket fans. I know you are a busy man and probably have other things to worry about, not even sure if this is part of your department but....

Cynthia Cooper is the worst commentator I have ever heard. She is a great basketball player, but that doesn't mean anything anymore. I cringed when halftime came along and quickly changed the channel. Having Coop take over full game coverage is a mistake, bring back Bullard.

Although I would have preferred almost anyone over Calvin, Cooper is one of the few that does not fit in that category. Let her do the Comets games and bring back the Bull.

There must be something we can do or someone we can contact to voice our opinions. I only bought a half season ticket package, but now I'm thinking about upgrading just to avoid listening to her! Someone else said it best, after last season you would think they'd fire her but instead they give her a higher position! I'm going to try and find a number or email because this really did ruin my day, oh well Clutch tried to warn me.

Clutch, can we email the Rockets' site and ask them not to do this? Words cannot describe my anger on this subject. All I can say is this is gut-wrenching news.

Wow that sucks, especially when it's quite obvious that she is a complete mush mouth. The only sports anouncer I have ever heard that was worse than Coop was Tim Hardaway during his brief stint with ESPN. Whoever made this decision is a total moron and should be fired.

I can see it already: Tmac dunks the ball, and Coop gives us fans some insight, "Wow, that was AWESOME!" Please no.

It's going to take more than whining to encourage a move... how about no Rockets mechandise until this is resolved?

As an employee of SportsRadio 610 I am torn here. While I welcome the listeners who do not wish to hear Cynthia Cooper's commentary I am torn as our Rockets analyst seems to be missing a great opportunity.

Remember you can still catch the Bull Thursdays at 10 AM...unless CC takes that spot too...

    Only kidding of course!

Actually, though it's a given that she is bad, she is at her (relative) best when talking ball off the cuff. She's not as stilted at least.

I really don't understand why they want to go with her though. I'm hoping Bullard turned down the job, because he's shown some skill at it. This seems like a case of extreme nepotism.

are you gonna be listening to the Astros while the Rockets play?

She's done a few Comets games on TV. She's NOT that bad.

    A few theories:

    1) The Rockets are trying to punish Fox Sports Net. "You want to keep the Astros until 2009? It's COOPER FOR YOU!"

    2) Management is trying to sell more tickets this way since clearly no one will be able to enjoy sitting at home watching the game.

    3) This is a set-up for Bullard to come in and look even better when he's hired after a 3 week stint of certain dismal Cooper failure.

    4) Rockets Break Ground With New Concept: Fan Unappreciation Year.

    5) Rockets will tone down criticism by later admitting that Cooper was not their first choice. Carrot Top just wanted too much money and Gilbert Gottfried wanted too many years.

As I've said before, these are the words that come in to my head when I listen to Cynthia Cooper: Void of insight, Unable to clearly present thoughts/analysis, Phony, Annoying, Cheesy Grin, 'My Ears Are Bleeding'.

And this is who they want as the color commentator.
